I see people say these are ''the only 3 relevant marketing agencies'' as one of those agencies, I can say this there are alot of great, actually fantastic agencies that also do not work so much with content creators, design, socials and much more that are fantastic mostly, and I say this respectfully to the content creators, as we work with alot too they highlight the ones who gives the most deals (as they work with them the most they get to know them more then others)

the idea of starting an agency is exciting and I get it, it’s a great launchpad to your entrepreneur journey I highly encourage everyone to start an agency but also most people realize very quickly it’s very hard to build and sustain an good quality agency which is why most start and die very quickly we’ve been growing and building @LunarStrategy for 6 years and I can tell you this much it’s not a piece of cake and only exciting to build and grow an agency, very much hard work and just being consistent for years, attracting a team of winners and great talent

some fair takes here but i'm always dubious of KOLs/creators who create content about the KOL/creator space. Like – who tf is your audience? Retail users dgaf about this stuff. Do you have an actual retail community or just other "creators"...? Conversion comes from real retail audiences... not from fellow "creators" (engagement farmers).

Companies need to ask themselves something: do you want visibility… or conversion? Because the same 10 mega-KOLs cycling through promos every week aren’t influence, they’re an ad billboard. Meanwhile there are hundreds of sub-10k creators grinding, building real trust, actually educating… and getting ignored. Reach is rented, credibility compounds.

I worry about some of these KOLs because their profile no longer provides value. There are exceptions (rare tbh) to the rule, but the majority of them are simply a paid billboard for advertising because they don’t create organic or worthwhile content anymore.

Views/followers ≠ money In 2026, anyone can build an audience from scratch In 2016, virality was rare The creator economy is changing, there are increasingly more creators which means less lucrative brand deals to go around (even for top 1% of creators) Influencers need to sell products/services to make (real) money Either that or take on 100 mini-gigs + side-hustles If all you do is entertainment content for ex, good luck monetising Audience quality has never mattered more
