Damn. Justin McElroy was one of the most influential media critics in my life-- in high school, Joystiq was just as revelatory as Comics Alliance, and then Polygon just blew my mind, over and over again, with what they accomplished in both written criticism and video.

What people are bemoaning isn't just that kids are too lazy to learn them or whatever but precisely that the systems that taught them to me so long after their invention have apparently deteriorated now

@blueyedcole Both words have fallen out of common use in contemporary novels teens are likely to be reading and schools have long since moved away from requiring students to read complete works. They largely use passages from classic literature rather the full work.

Like 10-20x less likely. It is "most" of the risk with cosleeping, even though it's always less safe than the alternative

Sure, there are ways to make it extremely dangerous, but a baby is more likely to die co-sleeping than not. Period.
