1/ It has long been known that microenvironmental signals can drive tumor growth, particularly in tumors that are rich in non-malignant cells — yet the specific signals have remained a mystery. Hodgkin lymphoma is the exemplar, with rare tumor cells (<1%!) reliant on such signals. We set out to define these signals 🧵 Paper: rdcu.be/e2KuZ

In a medical milestone, a customized base editor was developed, characterized in human and mouse cells, tested in mice, studied for safety in non-human primates, cleared by @US_FDA for clinical trial use, manufactured as a complex with an LNP, and dosed into a baby with a severe, rapidly progressing genetic disease... all in an astounding 7 months. Best of all, the infant patient shows apparent benefit. Congratulations to @kiranmusunuru, Rebecca Ahrens-Nicklas, and other team members for this heroic and inspiring effort, which has implications for the hundreds of millions of patients that suffer from thousands of genetic diseases. drive.google.com/file/d/1Jfku5j…

Congrats our @Sys_Immunology lab @YMerbl for a new masterpiece study @Nature highlighting the existence of multiple endogenous proteosome-cleaved peptides featuring an anti-microbial activity! A fantastic read and a fascinating finding, way to go guys! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Proud to share our latest work in @nature, co-led by @chadi_elfarran, @CouturierMDPhD & @BradEBernstein! We developed a new framework to understand immunomodulatory myeloid cells in #glioma & lay a foundation to develop more effective immunotherapies🧵 nature.com/articles/s4158…

1/ Thrilled to share an advancement in gene therapy from my PhD in @NatureComms! We've developed a new approach to reduce immune responses while maintaining efficiency—paving the way for safer, more effective therapies. Big thanks to @zhangf & @mircoscopy! bit.ly/redicas9
