@learnda1ly

I try to learn something everyday. Most interested in Splunk and writing code. I dabble in Ham radio sometimes.

@jvgraz No, it means anyone who uses violent means to achieve political ends. Like destroying cameras because you don't believe in them, I suppose, instead of going through the proper channels.

As a woman, when it comes to your weight, listen to your most brutally honest sister, not your boyfriend. Your boyfriend will tell you that you look perfect at every size because, to him, you probably do. Your sister will assess the situation clinically and inform you when the love handles have breached containment. Then you lose the weight, look noticeably better, and your boyfriend still insists you look perfect anytime. Romantic but diagnostically useless. Always consult the honest sister.

Guys, I think it's 2026, so we should be using RAM as primary storage, as SSDs are too slow. What do you think?

@TrisH0x2A I think more like “what can’t be done without me?” There is something to be said for a system engineered to survive and be maintained without you.

a senior engineer once told me something I still think about: "Don't assume shipping a feature makes you valuable. That's just the baseline. Ask yourself every day - what breaks without me? "

@WarrenInTheBuff In Toy Story 4, I saw the pattern. Disney takes the quality that makes a character strong (loyalty and selflessness) and turns it into a weakness. They destroyed Woody’s character. Not surprising to hear…

Toy Story 5 was so bad. I remember thinking my mom was a loon because they made the dad in the goof troop movie a bumbling buffoon, but she was yet again (and always has been) right Disney... not even once

@GeoffreyHuntley I believe that AI agents are useful in their non-determinism…if a problem can be solved within deterministic means, automation is the way!! I do think i could see usefulness for agents when the process is sufficiently complex that automation is difficult. Am I wrong here?

taps sign: agents and prompt engineering is cool but we got real problems to solve. don’t get distracted by the new shiny substrate. there are cool problems to solve that are enabled through this new substrate but the substrate itself is not the solve

My husband grabbed my paper from church thinking I took copious amounts of notes. Really, I was (also) seeing where my cursive skills were at. Think it still looks like chicken scratch.
