Wahab Shittu, SAN, just opined that because the Lagos State Coroner's office allegedly published a notice in the Punch and ThisDay for Nigerians to come forward & identify some corpses, the State has fulfilled its obligations to the families of the 103 corpses. DAMN! 💔
I listened with tears in my eyes!
What is the probability of an affected person, to see such a random notice?
How many people read one or more newspapers everyday?
What is the rate of the highest circulating newspaper in Nigeria?
What happened to going back to the so-called communities where the corpses were recovered to make enquiries?
What about the police fgs?!
I shuddered as that man spoke! Yes, lawyers are supposed to defend causes, but not without careful thinking nau!
But thank God someone with his head screwed rightly on his shoulders was in that room to respond appropriately.
