@retsyn

the question is not 'how far?', the question is, 'do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?'

Colorado communities are earning national recognition for what we already know: our state is one of the best places to live, work, raise a family, and build a future. From strong job opportunities to incredible outdoor access and a quality of life that is hard to beat, cities like Parker, Castle Rock, Boulder, and Fort Collins show why people are proud to call Colorado home. We’ll keep working to make Colorado more affordable, more livable, and full of opportunity for every Coloradan. 9news.com/article/life/s…

@retsyn It's more of a "here's how to win an election" problem than the person themselves.

Big money and attack mailers are why you lost? Nope. I was outspent 6 to 1 and had TV ads being ran against me for nine months (2024) and I still won by double digits. You lost because you don’t know how to run a campaign. You lost because you don’t know how to talk directly to the people. You lost because you have no vision, no message, and no plan. You lost because voters like the other person better.

If you have to create a shared podium for the boy competing in the girls’ event, you’ve already admitted you know he isn’t a girl and that his participation is unfair. At that point, you're just seeking a public humiliation ritual for the girls.

I was waiting at a crosswalk in Tokyo. The traffic light was red but no cars were coming. A bunch of people were waiting anyway. The tourist next to me said to his friend "why is everyone waiting? There's no cars." He started to cross. An old woman said something to him in Japanese. He didn't understand and ignored her. She stepped in front of him, blocking his path. Said more firmly in Japanese, pointing at the light. A Japanese guy nearby translated for the tourist: "She says you must wait for the green light. Even if there are no cars. That is the rule." Tourists got annoyed. "That's a stupid rule. There's literally no cars." The translator told the old woman what he said. She responded in Japanese. The translator said: "She says rules are not about cars. Rules are about respect for order. If everyone follows rules only when convenient, society breaks down. You wait for the green light because that is what civilized people do. Not because of cars. Because of civilization." The tourist kind of scoffed but stopped trying to cross. The light turned green. The old woman smiled at him, gestured for him to go ahead of her. As we all crossed, the translator said to me quietly "she is right, you know. We follow small rules so we can trust each other with big rules." That stuck with me. The idea that waiting at an empty crosswalk isn't about traffic. It's about proving to each other that we're all willing to follow rules even when no one would know if we didn't.

43X has been acquired. Waited the three day “cooling” period, because you know, I don’t want to use one of the dozens of firearms I already own if I’m pissed off, need a new one for that. Couldn’t take it home when I went to pick it up the first time because they can’t run my background check until I physically fill out paperwork. I always clear instantly, not this time. 40 minutes there, 40 minutes back…twice. They cleared me 48 hours later. Forget about the fact I have a pistol on my hip through this entire process and I already own an arsenal that they know about because every purchase in IL is registered through the ISP. But you never know, this one purchase might be the one I choose to use unlawfully. Not so much as a speeding ticket on my record and they have my finger prints because of my profession.😐Fuck’n stupid commies…🖕🏼

@jamesjansson @PalmerLuckey @AOC Do you self-flagelate every night to make yourself feel better for your own exploitation? Or are you somehow immune because you aren't successful?

@PalmerLuckey @AOC To be precise about how you exploited, you paid your engineers less than their true value, which is meh. But your whole company is based on a legal and labor system in China that is HORRIFIC.

The single largest form of theft in America is wage theft. $50 billion a year are stolen from American workers. If a billionaire amasses their wealth by underpaying their full-time workers so severely that they must rely on food assistance and government programs to survive, then no, that wealth was not earned by one individual - it was a wealth transfer subsidized by underpaid American workers and the public who get stuck with the bill for large corporations free-riding off our systems. The point is less about individual morality. It’s more about how our current economic reality of shattering inequality rewards screwing over workers and exploiting essential systems at scale. We’re talking monopoly power. Rent-seeking. Wage theft. Profiteering. Stock buybacks. Destabilizing housing markets. Companies using SNAP/EBT to underwrite their wages. Massive government subsidies or contracts to corporations following lobbying and dark money in politics with little to no oversight or accountability. Some people get enraged that I draw attention to this. That’s on them. Let them call me shrill, dumb, inexperienced, girly, uneducated - these folks will say anything to distract from or undercut the truth that working people are getting screwed, and giving people a fair shake means we must have a grown conversation about reigning in abuse of power.
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_

AOC: “There’s a certain level of wealth and accumulation that is unearned. You can’t earn a billion dollars. You just can’t earn that. You can get market power, you can break rules, you can abuse labor laws, you can pay people less than what they’re worth, but you can’t earn that”
