@morganisawizard Hey now. That’s my backyard.
You climb Zirkel or Agnes?

@AliAmongFlowers Judges is great. Highly recommended Jordan’s commentary.

@TFletcherDesign Agreed. So many startups do just that. It’s duplicitous, at best.

@spindriftaz It's actual intended purpose may have been just to get in on the easy money and fuck around. These founders are never really to be trusted.

Spinlaunch is the company for people who are bad at physics.
Dumbest idea, ever. Viable for low gravity launches? Yes. Viable for launches from Earth? Only if you never passed Physics 101.
Gamma Factor@yFactr
Not too long ago I spoke to someone who was laid off from spinlaunch and asked if he still thought the concept was workable. He said yes

@MoundLore When she was very young, my sister constantly confused the terms “motel” and “hotel.”
Eventually, she just called them “homotels” to the horror of my parents. 😂
The social and cultural aspects of doors-on-the-inside vs doors-on-the-outside is actually an interesting history.

@MoundLore Is a different world. I see the same thing with colors, too. Cars, buildings, motels, and movies used to be colorful. Now, everything is a shade of grey.
It’s like we all jumped a timeline from the ‘90s to some world where Soviet architecture is the norm.

@spindriftaz It was really like a different universe eras. Bizarre to have grown up in the in between like me.

There was a time when the roadside motel was part of the American road trip, not just where you slept during it.
The neon sign told you where to turn. The pool was practically outside your room. Somewhere down the walkway an ice machine ran all night. You carried an actual key, kids wandered back and forth between rooms, and somebody was always standing beside the car trying to figure out where everyone was going next from a folded paper map.
No two places felt quite the same.
This is Gary’s Dunes Highway Holiday Inn, but you can find the bones of places like it all over America. Before interstate exits became the same five hotels, the road had its own architecture.
We lost old motels but also made traveling look the same everywhere. 🧵

Federal PEAK high pressure - similar to brass cost?
Here we see a similar 'deep draw' method of case forming for PEAK alloy steel case as we see with conventional brass. Hopeful production cost will be similar once economy of scale is achieved.
This is supported by TWZ's recent interview with SOCOM about their new small arms programs, where they actually say that it can be cheaper then brass (as a raw material steel is generally cheaper):
"It really goes back to the evolution in steel case ammo that Federal started several years ago, and there’s been more iterations of that coming out – new alloys for cases that far exceed performance of the standard brass that we’ve been using for the last 100 years. And the really amazing part is they can actually be cheaper than brass as well, so we get more performance at a lower cost. It’s a win-win."

@HikingSchweiz It’s a great hike!
Was staying at a Zimmer hosted by an elderly couple outside of Alpthal, and over breakfast they turned me on to this gem.

The Grosser Mythen (1,898m) rises dramatically above Schwyz in Central Switzerland 🇨🇭. The trail to the top has 47 hairpin turns, is rated T3, and is dangerous when wet! However, on nice days prepared hikers who reach the summit are treated to an amazing view of the valley and lakes below, and to the mountaintop restaurant famous for nut croissants.

@simonsarris Great article. Have you considered any Sigma Merrill or Quattro cameras? My sd Quattro has so much character.

After these strikes we need to leave — we hit back now it’s time to exit.
Remove our troops/bases from the region to deprive Iran of targets, deescalate the war & transition to economic negotiations to open the SOH.
Break the escalation cycle.
U.S. Central Command@CENTCOM
Today at 6 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began launching new airstrikes against Iran at the Commander in Chief’s direction. The strikes are designed to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night.

@TheBasedTrinity No, you misunderstand. Good they’re overlooked so they don’t get ruined.
