Had a pretty nasty zkVM compiler bug yesterday that only appeared in complex guests. Instrumented Claude and let it run overnight. 4h later, it actually found the bug. What I find more incredible than the find, is that it didn't lose itself after hours of trying. Truly amazing.

One of the biggest challenges I see is that there is no definition on what blockspace is considered “Ethereum” and what is not. It ends up becoming a marketing and “alignment” problem - while should be technical. For example NEAR has been publishing its light client to Ethereum since 2021 as part of Rainbow bridge. If there are long term attacks on NEAR I’m sure that social consensus would be to use Ethereum published history but doesn’t follow short term reorgs. At the same time my understanding that most L2s don’t follow simple reorgs of Etheruem either.

Kinda crazy that PL theory folks haven't tried to build a "world computer" with Unison. Lot of cool ideas.

@uttam_singhk They could be but the customer says that the requirements are not fulfilled today. Is the customer wrong or is it a good time to reflect on Ethereum’s value propositions to understand why they don’t solve the user’s problems?

Validators rewards don't need to be based on staking token inflation, they can just be compensated by the txn fees. This is the final endgame state that Bitcoin wants to achieve as well, how well it'll work in a permissionless setting is yet to be tested. Arc, as I understand is PoA anyway for now. By the time they figure out PoS they will definitely need to have a robust fee mechanism. Edited: to add that Arc is PoA for now.

Its not an easy problem to solve to qualify who counts as an Ethereum researcher, but still a problem that needs to solved.

Client teams pay the devs to do this. Protocol designers, architects, surveyors are missing from this "government"
