After 55, you don’t “wake up early” — you join the elite 3:30 AM secret society and spend the morning silently judging everyone still in bed like the smug old bastard you are. 😖

@paullewismoney First rule of insolvency, HMRC get paid. Second rule of insolvency, advisers get paid their agreed rate. (Or else they wouldn’t do it)

@AllTwistedHopes @RealDonKeith What happened with the EU and Apple pods that translate on the fly? Last I heard they weren’t available in the EU. For compatibility issues.

@syncr0 @RealDonKeith They can mandate that Apple get rid of it to be able to sell their devices in EU. They did this with Apple proprietary charging ports and Apple was forced to move to C charging ports for all their devices.

🚨EU plans VPN crackdown: New age ID system “cannot be bypassed” via VPNs. Couldn’t stop illegal migration, but suddenly goes full North Korea on controlling what Europeans read online.

@2147mill You can still put 20k in once you turn 65. For example your allowance aged 64 at start of tax years, increases to 20k if your turn 65 during the tax period. Think you need to wait until you’re 65

Read this before you panic about ISA allowance cuts. The £12,000 limit is for Cash ISAs only. Your Stocks & Shares ISA allowance is still £20,000. Cash ISA = savings account wrapper. Now £12,000. Stocks & Shares ISA = investment wrapper. Still £20,000. They are not the same thing. They never were. The government cut the allowance on the account that holds cash earning 4%. They left untouched the account that holds investments earning 10%+. If anything they're pushing you towards investing. Your £20,000 Stocks & Shares ISA allowance is intact.

Dine-dashers who ran up a £540 bill at a steakhouse and then legged it without paying are being hunted by police. A group of people enjoyed a slap-up meal at Miller & Carter in Kettering on April 6 between 5pm and 7.10pm before calmly walking out leaving the £539.70 tab unpaid. Northamptonshire Police have now released CCTV images of the suspects and are appealing for anyone who recognises them to come forward. It’s the second time in weeks the same branch has been hit by dine-and-dashers. Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 26000213409.

In Blackpool for the first time and I love it. Las Vegas of the North. People look down on seaside towns but I personally love the run-down white trash look. It's the comfort of familiarity. I feel more at home in places where you're scrapping with pigeons over fag ends than in pictureskew country villages

@MJDMr4 @matt_pufc Been today. Sun shining, place was dead. Usual 20p beggars on Central Drive and Coral Island. One bloke still asleep in his box near Central Pier. Road works on road to car parks meant a detour through downtown Beirut. Your town needs drastic action or it will end up like Rhyll

We stayed in Blackpool for 2 nights. Our car registered three attempts to open the car door while we were away. During the day a couple tried to gain entry twice. Overnight, we had another visitor. Never known anything like it. Lock your cars. Does anyone know them?

@DaveKent101 Early days of Covid, went into our local miniature size Sainsburys 7am for some milk. Nobody else within 100 yards. Assistant ‘if you’re not NHS or essential worker, can’t serve you’. And she wouldn’t. Never been back. Milk’s cheaper from local petrol station round corner anyway

My most annoying supermarket experience. Years ago I was doing a late night shop in Morrisons, probably around 15 mins until closing time. I had filled a trolley with a mixture of food and headed to the tills. In those days you did not have the trolley self service till but the ones that were basket size. Usually at least one member of staff would operate a staffed till but on this occasion that was not the case. I noticed a group of 5 staff chatting, so I asked if they could open a till for my bulging trolley. They all laughed and one said “you see them tills over there? That is where you have to check out.” Annoyed, I started going over there, then there was further laughter and some sniggers. Those were the straws that broke the camel’s back. I went straight back to them, gave them the trolley and said “You see this trolley, all yours to unpack” Then I started walking to the exit, determined to go elsewhere the following day. Then one called me back and said “Ok mate, I open a till for you” and he did. Sure I got what I wanted but there was still anger in me when I finally got checked out. One of those incidents that live in your memory.

@orange_peelbeef Gomorrah. Italian with English subs. You end up learning Italian and can now get an alternate connect on a re-up * * re-up. You need to watch The Wire to understand that. Everything’s connected

Jet 2 - fight on plane, mid air. From Antalya - London Gatwick. Woke up and see someone getting punched in the face after being aggressive and shouting disrespectful & racial insults This was the aftermath, Pilot ended up landing the craft 2 hours into flight in Bulgaria to get local police to remove the passengers. Not the journey home I was expecting
