I wrote and deleted this message so many times, because I did not know how to put this pain into words. But I am writing now with hope that you might read it, and that you might hear the voice of students like me. I know you have spoken about Iran, cared about what is happening to our people, and tried to stand by Iranians in difficult times. Today, I am asking you from the bottom of my heart: please do not forget Iranian students in America. So many of us came here carrying years of sacrifice, fear, and hope. We left our homes, our families, and everything familiar behind, and endured countless hardships just for a chance to build a future. Many of us spent months, even more than a year, trapped in administrative processing, living in uncertainty, spending all we had, working endlessly, traveling to embassies, and holding on to nothing but hope. We went through all of that just to take one small step toward our dreams. I was one of those students. I spent more than a year in clearance, in a dark place full of stress, helplessness, and fear that my future might disappear before it even began. When it was finally over and I arrived in the United States, it felt like I had survived something impossible. It felt like I had finally reached the land of opportunity, the place where hard work and dreams could still mean something. But now, once again, we are living with fear and uncertainty. We are not our government. We are not politics. We are not terrorism. We are students. We are researchers. We are young people who came here with honest dreams, with love for learning, and with the hope of building a life through hard work and dignity. And yet now, many of us feel invisible and abandoned. We cannot find jobs. We cannot get OPT. Our immigration and status-related processes are being put on hold. We live every day with anxiety, wondering whether everything we fought for, everything we sacrificed for, will be taken away from us. This is what hurts the most: after surviving so much to get here, we are once again being pushed into hopelessness. I am asking you sincerely, as a successful Iranian woman whose voice carries weight and whose support has meant so much to so many people: please stand with us again. Please speak about us. Please do not let our pain go unseen. Please help people understand that we should not be punished for a government we did not choose and for politics we have no control over. We are human beings. We are dreamers. We are students who only wanted a chance. Please do not leave us alone. Thank you for reading this.

You’re right. But right now, those Iranian scientists and physicians are facing a USCIS processing pause. Many are losing their jobs, critical research is being halted, and they are living in fear of deportation. Please be their voice. #LiftTheHold @elonmusk @marklevinshow

I came to the United States in 1999 as a 12 year old boy. My parents, who are Iranian immigrants that fled the 1979 Revolution, settled in Spain around that time. I was born in Spain in 1987. 12 years later, my family came to America to live out the American dream. Spains economy was in shambles. My family was desperate for a better life. 2 years after we moved to the States, in 2001, 9/11 happened. My already unstable world from the massive move suddenly became less stable. Then, in 2008, my family almost lost everything due to the financial crisis. It took my family years to rebuild. Then, in 2016, I was told that America had elected the most evil person in the world, Donald Trump. A true racist. I questioned the motives of the American public. If Media is telling me this, it must be true. How can something so large be wrong about this story? Then, in 2020, COVID. During this entire time, I've had to fight an uphill battle against pessimism. I've had to fight constant reminders that the world is broken. That governments are corrupt. That massive positive change is impossible. Now, in 2024, this is the first time since I can remember where feeling positive about the future feels effortless. This is the first time, ever, that I feel like the world can be a better place. That wrongs can be righted. That prosperity is possible for the many, not the few. It's been way too long. We are due.

DHS, under the leadership of @POTUS Trump and @SecMullinDHS, will relentlessly enforce our nation’s immigration laws. We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure by using the CBP Home app so they can come back the right legal way to live the American dream.

@SecMullinDHS please pause the new Presidential Proclamations 10949 & 10998 and the 4 month USCIS hold on Iranian students & professionals already legally in the US! They fled the regime, work in science & medicine, and face persecution if deported. They are NOT the regime.
Reza Pahlavi@PahlaviReza

Mr. @SecMullinDHS, as you step into your new position I ask you to provide particular consideration to the status of Iranian students and professionals in the United States who may be at risk of immigration complications due to Presidential Proclamations 10949 and 10998. Many of these individuals fled the Islamic Republic’s because they believe in freedom, democracy, and the values this country stands for. They are also contributing to the United States every day. They arrived in this country legally, followed the rules, respect this country and its system of law and order and are among the most dedicated and accomplished contributors to American society. I ask that you and your department consider these factors, plus the personal and political risk many of these young people would face if sent back to the criminal regime in Iran. America’s concerns for its national security and the threat posed by the Islamic regime to the homeland are entirely justified. To that end, my office stands ready to provide you and your colleagues with regime operatives, propaganda agents, and influence networks for investigation and removal from the United States. Thank you for your consideration.

@Hamtag_71 I agree. As a vetted Iranian academic, I missed my parent's funeral to protect my tenure. The USCIS hold harms those like me who oppose the regime and share U.S. values; distinguish bad actors to foster positive contributions. @SenRandPaul @mhackman #LiftTheHold #USCISPause

The USCIS pause is hurting Iranian students, scientists, physicians, and professionals who oppose the regime and share American values. Homeland Security should distinguish between bad actors and talented Iranians who want to contribute positively to the U.S. 🇮🇷🤝🇺🇸 #LiftTheHold

Thank you @SecRubio for your thoughtful leadership. This action supports U.S. national security while underscoring the importance of distinguishing between regime affiliates and the many law-abiding Iranians who contribute positively to society.

On April 3, 2026, @ICEgov officers in Los Angeles arrested Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and Sarinasadat Hosseiny, the niece and grandniece of Qasem Soleimani, the late head of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who was killed by a drone strike ordered by President Trump in 2020.    Soleimani Afshar entered the United States in June 2015 on a tourist visa. In 2019, a judge granted her asylum. In 2021, she became a green card holder under the Biden Administration. In July 2025, she filed a naturalization application where she disclosed, she traveled to Iran at least four times since being issued a green card. Her trips to Iran illustrate her asylum claims were fraudulent.   Her daughter, Sarinasadat Hosseiny, entered the United States in July 2015 on a student visa. In 2019, a judge granted her asylum. In 2023, she became a green card holder under the Biden administration. It is a privilege to be granted green card to live in the United States of America. If we have reason to believe a green card holder poses a threat to the U.S., the green card will be revoked.

@Kamran_Yousaf Sit quietly, Kamran. There is no deal available on the table . There isn't a single meeting point . Temporary ceasefire is a death warrant for Iran, to which they'll never agree . For U.S. allowing any kind of financial or political benefit to Iran will be considered a defeat .

Pakistan’s back-to-back statements condemning Iran’s attacks on Saudi Arabia appear to be a last-ditch effort to salvage any remaining space for a deal. The messaging seems carefully calibrated: a signal to Tehran that if ongoing diplomatic efforts collapse, it risks losing Islamabad’s support, something that could further tilt the regional balance against Iran.
