“You bled for a country that won’t even call.” A raw spoken-word anthem exposing the betrayal of U.S. Marine Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd and countless veterans poisoned by burn pits, then abandoned by the very system meant to care for them. “Go Die in the Dark.” A gut-punch to the VA. Inspired by real events. Unfiltered. Unapologetically true. youtu.be/VXKSJBmW56o @TigTiegen @Burnpit360 @patriciakime @SenateDems @HouseVetAffairs @AGPamBondi #StandWithSgtLloyd

A Marine died of a combat-related injury on American soil. And his children are still being denied what he earned with his life. SecNav told the world Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd’s children would receive the combat-related benefits he earned. That does not align with the reality my children are facing. Sgt. Lloyd was NOT granted 100% medical retirement for the cancer that killed him. They gave him 60% PDRL for migraines—and denied responsibility for his stage IV colorectal cancer caused by burn pits, even though it is 100% service-connected under the PACT Act. He was ordered into the burn pits in 2007 by a superior officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom—2/3 Fox Company, Kaneohe Bay. Because the trash wasn’t sorted, they sent a Lance Corporal into a toxic cesspool. That exposure is what killed him. And they still refuse to take responsibility. The day after he died, they made their announcement. Because they waited, my children were stripped of the combat-related benefits their father earned with his life. And this is exactly why the Major Richard Star Act matters. Because right now—even when a service member is medically retired— the system still finds ways to deny, delay, or offset the very benefits they earned through combat. My son is a Type 1 diabetic. He does not have insulin coverage. I gave up everything—my career, my health, our home— and spent 141 days at his bedside so he wouldn’t die alone. We built a home for him to come back to. A home he promised our boys they would never have to leave. Now we are at risk of losing it. This is not what was promised. This is what failure looks like. Pass the Major Richard Star Act. Fix what was done to Sgt. Lloyd’s family. Help me get this in front of someone who will act. @SecNav @USNavy @USMC @DeptofDefense @DeptVetAffairs @SenTedCruz @JohnCornyn @RepLuttrell @HouseVetAffairs @SVACdems #StandWithSgtLloyd #Veteran #RichardStarAct #BurnPits #PACTAct #Type1Diabetes #MilitaryFamilies #GoldStarFamily #NoVeteranLeftBehind

A Marine died of a 100% service-connected cancer caused by toxic burn pit exposure. That Marine is the father of my children. He died on November 9, 2025. I was at his bedside for 141 days. I watched everything that happened to him. And we are still fighting. They gave him 60% PDRL for something unrelated… and denied the cancer that actually killed him. His children are still waiting. No TRICARE. No insulin coverage. Our son is type 1 diabetic. He will die without his medicine. We were told his children would be taken care of. That was said publicly. But months later, nothing has been put in place. I don’t know who to turn to anymore. If you’re reading this, please help me get this in front of someone who can fix it. Call your representatives. @DeptVetAffairs Not in Houston. At the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, veterans are lied to and manipulated. 40-year-old Marines are denied access to life-saving treatment and pushed toward hospice instead. My children’s father died because of it. @DeptVetAffairs explain this.

The Secretary of the Navy @SECNAV told the world Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd’s children would receive combat-related benefits and be guided through the process. Today, those benefits were denied by the CRSC board. Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd was poisoned during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007 while serving with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Fox Company out of Kaneohe Bay—after being ordered into burn pits. That exposure led to the cancer that killed him. The Marine Corps took two years to process his paperwork—and didn’t approve his medical retirement until the day after he died. Now the CRSC board says only he could apply. He’s dead. So our three children—including our son with Type 1 diabetes—have been denied the benefits he paid for with his life. I was station in Cherry point North Carolina. For months I was having diarrhea, night sweats, fatigue and extreme weight loss . I’m 6’3” and at the last physical before diagnosis I was 150 pounds. For nine months to year I was going to sick call at the base hospital complaining of symptoms and I had several large lymph nodes golf ball size in my neck. It all went undiagnosed. Aff and pfas contaminated the ground water. Not only that they’re always spraying this mysterious fog around base housing. And I had a small garden in my backyard of base housing. They never once said, even though they knew it was toxic and contaminated not to drink the water not to have a garden. They never told us what they were spraying in base housing . And then going to the hospital several times and they’re unable to diagnose the cancer, even though it was quite obvious. Hodgkins lymphoma stage 2B. 10 or 12 rounds of chemo and 30 sessions of radiation therapy. It’s fucked up my body and my mind and I’ll never be the same. My VA claim was denied for 10 years. And even though I’m in currently litigation, suing the makers of the firefighter foam, the VA denied the conditions related to that contamination, and I’ll have to re-file a claim. It pisses me off is that when I got out of the military and filed my claim around 2009 even though they knew the contamination happened way before that and the conditions it causes they deny my claim for my thyroid condition.

A man raised his right hand and swore an oath to this country. He served. He came home broken. And he died because of it //FULL STOP// Before he passed, we were told his record would be corrected — that his children would finally receive the benefits he earned… the benefits he paid for with his health, his body, and ultimately his life. That was the promise. But promises don’t mean anything to a broken system. Today, his children are still waiting. Still uncovered. Still forced to rely on social media just to be seen ... just to be heard ... just to get what should have never been in question. Let that sink in. A Marine gave everything. And his kids have to beg. Not because the country can’t help them… …but because the system hasn’t bothered to. This is not a funding issue. This is not a legal gray area. This is a failure of action. Fix the record. Update DEERS. Turn on the benefits. Now! If this doesn’t make you angry, it should. Call your Congressman. Call your Senators. Demand accountability. Because if this can happen to his family… …it can happen to any of ours. Shame on the @USMC for not caring enough to end the bureaucracy. So much for "Semper Fi"... it's apparent that ends when the Marine leaves active duty. It's election year. Any congressional rep could help if they cared. Remember that at the voting booth. @Marinetimes @SenTedCruz

@KLloydProject I’m very sorry for your loss. I see that you live in Texas. I would suggest reaching out to one or both of your Senators for help. They have caseworkers specifically trained in working with the VA and other federal agencies. I wish you and your family the best of luck!

Councilman @sdemarcoii , I need you to understand that this was not corrected. What was issued granted Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd 60% PDRL for migraines, while denying responsibility for what actually killed him — stage IV colorectal cancer, 100% service-connected under the PACT Act, after he was ordered into burn pits by a superior officer during his service. I have all of the documents. It has now been three months, and there has been no real-world action or change for our children. They still do not have the survivor benefits they were publicly told were secured. No one from @SECNAV has contacted me. No one has contacted the Wounded Warrior Regiment, who was specifically tasked with helping our family navigate CRSC. Instead, the documents say that the petitioner — Kevin — can elect survivor benefits for the children. Kevin is deceased. I gave up everything to care for him. My career, my home, and my health. I spent 141 days at his bedside because he was a homeless, dying Marine and there was no one else. He was diagnosed in March 2023 and fought VA denials for over two and a half years before he died. He was not allowed to receive care at MD Anderson until August 2025, only after we went public when the VA denied his transfer for treatment that could have given him years. Because he was homeless, we had to secure a home just so he could be discharged somewhere safe — a home he promised our boys they would never have to leave. Now unless something changes, we are going to lose that home. Our situation has become so desperate that we have had to apply for food stamps. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know who to talk to anymore. I have been begging for help since June 23rd. I am asking you, as someone with a voice, to please understand — this was not corrected, and my children are still waiting for what their father earned with his life
Sam DeMarco 🇺🇸🇮🇱@sdemarcoii

You say the mission is the veteran—then why are his children being denied the combat-related benefits he earned with his life? Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd was poisoned during Operation Iraqi Freedom and died from a 100% service-connected, combat-related condition. The Secretary of the Navy told the world his children would be taken care of. Today, we were told they are denied—because the Marine Corps didn’t process his retirement until the day after he died, and now “only the petitioner can apply.” He’s dead.
