In the statement, Noktan said his original intent was to appeal for peace regarding the Manipur crisis through a Facebook post. He claims he was "misguided" by Markson Naga(Tangkhul Fake Naga), whom he met in the social media group One Naga Voice (ONV), and that his peace appeal was altered into a "diplomatic article." Noktan has declared the piece "null and void" and asked that it not be used for future historical reference. The retraction comes amid wider allegations of coordinated online campaigns spreading misinformation and manipulated narratives related to the Tangkhul-Kuki tensions. Posts circulating online accuse Tangkhul elements of using false narratives to rally support across Naga tribes and influence opinion against the Kuki community. Since 13th May 2026, these civilians — daily wage earners, students, and fathers who work only to feed their families — have been held hostage by groups including SDSA, NPO, UNC, and Arambai Tenggol. This happened less than a kilometre from Senapati Police Station, after 3 Kuki-Zo pastors were brutally killed on the same day. Till today, they have not been released. Despite the grave provocation and immense hardship faced by our people, the Kuki-Zo community has maintained peace and restraint. We have not retaliated nor imposed any restrictions on others. We strongly believe that humanity, justice, and the rule of law must prevail over hostility and impunity. We therefore earnestly request: 1. Shri Losii Dikho, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur: As the representative of Senapati, you are urged to immediately intervene and ensure the safe, unconditional release of all 14 hostages without any injury. 2. Major David Manlun _🇮🇳🕯️ Major David Manlun from Churachandpur district of Manipur is remembered across the nation as a fearless officer who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting insurgents near the Myanmar border. ❤️⚔️ His courage, determination, and leadership during one of the most dangerous counter-insurgency operations continue to inspire millions of Indians and stand as a proud example of service to the nation. According to reports, Major David was serving with the 164 Infantry Battalion TA (NAGA) in Nagaland, where security forces regularly carried out operations against insurgent groups active near the border region. 🌲🚨 In June 2017, intelligence reports suggested the presence of heavily armed militants in the Lappa area of Mon district near the Myanmar border. The militants were suspected to be linked to extremist organizations operating in the region, prompting security forces to launch a joint mission involving Para Commandos and the 164 Infantry Battalion. 🇮🇳🛡️ The operation was conducted in extremely challenging terrain, nearly 325 kilometers from Kohima and close to the international border. During the mission, insurgents suddenly opened intense fire on the advancing troops. 💥⚔️ Major David Manlun, who was leading the team from the front, displayed extraordinary bravery by moving forward and launching a counterattack against the militants while guiding and motivating his soldiers during the fierce encounter.
