South Africa is an extremely strong Chinese ally and went all in on becoming anti Western,
but yet its China's that's had the far more negative impact on its local economy than the West.
Russia also has had no meaningful impacts whatsoever on the South African economy.
South Africa is one of the few Global South countries where it would have been economically rational to have let bygones be bygones and actually go full Pro Western.
They should have positioned themselves as Europe's offshore manufacturing/BPO base.

Some repliers are claiming India's development trajectory is just "China 15 yrs ago." India in 2026 is ranked 147th in GDP/capita. The last time China was ranked so low was 1997. Not a perfect signal, but on whole fair to say that India is where China was 30 years ago, not 15.

The reason the creation/implosion of the bubble is "very bad" is because it has contributed to a deflationary crisis which the CPC itself acknowledges today.
