It highlights how deeply he is entrenched in the current Iraqi political ecosystem. Fast knowledge and quick wealth. Trump might like that. He might be just a placeholder until the war ends. Nevertheless, it tells a lot about Iraq’s socio-political and economic situation.

New Iraq PM. a dark horse. A compromise candidate. Reflects multiple crises within the Framework & Iraqi politics, alongside the conflicting dynamics among US, Iran, & Iraq. only 40yrs. Too many degrees & excessive wealth: a millionaire, if not billionaire. his electronic army

my latest: Gorran initially came as a shock to the KRG political system, but failed to keep enough votes and is no longer represented in the Iraqi parliament. This shortcoming limits the influence of Gorran as the first opposition party. theamargi.com/posts/an-obitu…

From Gorran’s rise in 2009 to today’s fragmented landscape, Kurdish opposition politics has shifted from organized challenge to personality-driven decline. What happened to the idea of opposition in the Kurdistan Region? ✍️@Aziz1Sardar theamargi.com/posts/an-obitu…

From the book " A Dying Colonialism " by Fanon: “The guerrilla is not powerful because his gun is bigger than the occupier’s. He is powerful because he becomes the concentrated will of a people that refuses to disappear. Colonial power always calls resistance “criminal” before history calls it liberation.” Let me tell you something! When a population is denied language, rights, and existence, resistance is inevitable. Calling it “criminal” doesn’t describe it; it reveals the position of the one speaking. Power always criminalizes what it cannot control. But I will go even beyond this to just clarify why this so-called “opposition” is freaking out and keep attacking the Kurds! They are afraid. Here is why! Peshmerga or as Fanon describes it a guerrilla is not as a superior military force, but as something far more decisive: a condensation of the people’s will. The fighter in the mountains is never just an individual with a weapon. They are sustained by an entire population that feeds them, shelters them, protects them, and recognizes itself in them. The mountain is not just terrain; it is a political space. It becomes the place where a people, denied visibility and legitimacy, reorganizes itself and returns as force. This is why colonial power always misnames the guerrilla. It calls them a thief, a bandit, a criminal. Not because that description is accurate, but because it cannot acknowledge what stands behind them. To do so would require admitting that resistance is not an anomaly; it is the logical outcome of domination. The weapon, in this context, is not decisive because of its technical capacity. It matters because it signals a threshold: a population that no longer accepts its assigned place. The guerrilla’s presence in the mountain is the visible proof that control has already fractured. The state may have armies, institutions, and language, but it no longer has total legitimacy. So when you reduce resistance to “thuggery,” you are not describing reality. You are repeating the oldest script of power: strip a people of political meaning, then criminalize the form their refusal takes. Every colonial structure has done this. And every time, history has shown the same thing: the problem was never the weapon itself, but the collective will that made it meaningful.

“In part because of America's policy toward Kurdistan, toward Iraq, toward the region over the past 15 years, there has been a tremendous amount of neglect of the Kurdistan region in American thinking,” says @MiddleEastInst Vice President for Policy, Dr. Kenneth Pollack.

On Wednesday, 19-year-old Ghazal Molan was severely injured in a drone attack carried out by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. She was a member of Komala, an Iranian Kurdish opposition group based in Iraqi Kurdistan. According to multiple reliable sources, she was refused treatment, Now Bakhshin Hospital says they had instruction from PUK control health authorities not to accept the patience. Ghazal subsequently died from her injuries. The @PUK leadership should explain and investigate what happened. Is it lawful to refuse life-saving treatment to an injured woman? @Bafeltalabani @qubadjt @BarhamSalih @IKRPresident @masrourbarzani @masoud_barzani
