I read comments saying “just go back” or “just consular process” and realize these are the same kinds of people influencing government policy. To them it’s paperwork. To real families it’s years of separation, missed pregnancies, children growing up without parents, financial devastation, and marriages under extreme strain. What’s most disturbing is how casually some people dismiss human suffering while claiming to defend family values and Christianity. Compassion, mercy, and keeping families together used to matter. Posts like this make me wonder how many lives are being damaged by these policies. I genuinely hope voters remember it in the midterms and in 2028.

The Public Works Department took delivery of their new Ford Transit van for the Facilities division this week. This van will replace a 20-year old GMC van that was in need of dire repairs and was in danger of failing inspection.

Fact check: False ⭐ If anyone still believes @ICEgov after they’ve been found to lie to courts of law numerous times, they should have their heads checked.  Immigration detainees with no criminal records are being held under the same, and in some cases worse, restrictive conditions as criminal defendants.  At MDC Brooklyn: - Detainees are forced to remain in their cells for as long as 22 hours a day - Water provided is brown and filled with sediment  - Requests for medical care are repeatedly denied, including for kidney pain and dental infections - There are strict restrictions on phone calls that limit access to legal representation  @ICEgov - I've seen it in person. You're lying.

The mere possibility that hundreds of thousands of immigrants living in the United States will be required to leave their families, homes, and jobs behind for months or more to adjust their immigration status outside the country is as unwise and it is unacceptable.  America leads when we have dedicated people—no matter where they're from—working to save lives, create new technologies, and more. I am horrified by the images of clashes between ICE and protestors and observers — including my colleague @SenatorAndyKim — outside of a New Jersey ICE facility where some detainees are currently on a hunger strike. The public has a right to protest peacefully, including outside ICE detention centers, and we must continue to demand an end to deplorable conditions for those in ICE custody.
