I'm excited to announce that I'm joining @sequoia as a Partner! Sequoia's portfolio represents over 20% of the NASDAQ's total value, and we look forward to partnering with the next generation of Israeli founders to help them scale to new heights!

Every B2B software company is (or should be) building a "headless" version of their product. One that can be used by agents. But "headless" doesn't mean "brainless". You don't just wrap your existing APIs into an MCP server and call it a day. The companies that succeed in the agentic era are those that take a thoughtful approach to *designing* an agentic user experience (AUX). Yes, that will likely involve APIs, MCPs and CLIs. But the difference will be in the *ergonomics* of the interface. We need to figure out *how* agents actually want to use our products/platforms. Because if all they wanted to do was use them like humans do, we have "computer use" for that. I'm personally very excited about this new agentic world when it comes to B2B software. HubSpot is all-in on building the #1 agentic customer platform. Just posted this in a private Slack thread with the HubSpot exec team: Being agentic is not just about agents running *on* our platform, it's about agents *running* our platform (being able to operate it). That's how you take AI from being a simple tool to a savvy teammate.

#Anthropic got it wrong. The public models already grant attackers the upper hand. This is why we created #MOAK - to prove that the exploitation risk is no longer theoretical. AI-powered instant exploitation of 1-days is now the rational move for every threat actor. We are expecting "Spray & Pray" attacks to hit within an hour of publication, and this won't be limited to nation-states. While #Glasswing focuses on maintainers, it lacks the robust support required by enterprises. In the long run, these tools might make the world safer, but in the short term, currently available models enable a "Wild West" scenario. I believe that the next two years will be brutal for enterprises. AI-powered attackers are significantly more vicious. To the defenders reading this - we’re entering a dangerous era - you must step up your patching game. You’ve got to check the website, the link is in the first comment. To be continued.

@pmddomingos Yes, but if engineered correctly by top offensive hackers, even Opus 4.6 can cause chaos. See here: moak.ai - an agentic workflow that autonomously exploits 98% of open source KEVs.

It's a great day to be a founder: we've named @dougleone chairman of @sequoia. Doug passed the baton a few years back, but he never left: he’s been in the office, working on boards, and serving as consigliere to the next generation. When we realized how much gas Doug has left in the tank, we invited him to ramp back up as an investor at Sequoia. Please cut him some slack as he onboards over the next couple weeks. Let’s go!

We just wrapped The Big @deel 2026 - and this one felt different. 🚀 Today is also Deel's 7th birthday. 7 years, 40,000+ companies, $22B in payroll processed. This year we connected every stage of the worker lifecycle into one platform. Here's what we launched 👇🧵

@gradypb @Alfred_Lin congratulations on getting @carl_eschenbach back in the fold. He's a great leader and will be an amazing resource to both Sequoia as well as the larger founder ecosystem, I have always valued his advice and insight on our board, he says it like it is and is extremely supportive. Carl - love your note, and your sharing the principles of your next chapter.

It’s time to return to the place where I know I can have the most impact. I am beyond excited to be rejoining @sequoia as a Partner. Here is what I shared with @gradypb @alfred_lin on how I am approaching my next chapter.

Fair points. But what’s the alternative? Iran almost has enough enriched uranium for multiple warheads and an ICBM program that puts almost every country in range in <2 years. At this rate, Hormuz most likely comes under permanent Iranian control with no credible military response possible. In this world, China shapes global energy, not the US. The economic pain you’re describing has an end, this scenario doesn’t.

I'm going to make some obvious points. (1) Blowing up all the oil infrastructure in the Middle East is an insane idea, and may well result in a global economic crash and humanitarian crisis unrivaled in the lives of those now living. We're talking about the price of everything everywhere rising, from food to gas, at a moment when inflation was already high. All of that will be laid at the feet of the authors of this war. (2) The antebellum status quo of Feb 27, 2026 was just not that bad, but we're unlikely to return to it. Expect indefinite, long-term, ongoing disruptions to everything out of the Middle East. (3) Also assume tech financing crashes for the indefinite future. The genius plan to get the Gulf states caught in the crossfire has incinerated much of the funding for LPs, for datacenters, and for IPOs. Anyone in tech who supported this war may soon learn the meaning of "force majeure" as funding gets yanked. (4) Many capital allocators will instead be allocating much further down Maslow's hierarchy of needs, towards useful basic things like food and energy. (5) It's fortunate that all those progressives yelled about the "climate crisis." Yes, their reasoning about timelines was wrong, and much of the money was wasted in graft, but the result was right: we all need energy independence from the Middle East, pronto. It's also fortunate that Elon and China autistically took climate seriously. Now they're going to need to ship a billion solar panels, electric vehicles, batteries, nuclear power plants, and the like to get everyone off oil, immediately. (6) It's not just an oil and gas problem, of course. It's also a fertilizer problem, and a chemical precursor problem. Maybe some new sources will come online at the new prices, but it takes time to dial stuff up, particularly at this scale, so shortages are almost a certainty. That said, China has actually scaled up coal-to-chemicals[a,c] (C2C), and there's also something more sci-fi called Power-to-X[b] which turns arbitrary power + water + air into hydrocarbons. But all of that will need to get accelerated. I have a background in chemical engineering so may start funding things in this area. (7) Ultimately, this war is going to result in tremendous blame for anyone associated with it. It's a no-win scenario to blow up this much infrastructure for so many people. Simply not worth it for whatever objective they thought they were going to attain. But unless you're actually in a position to stop the madness, the pragmatic thing to do is: scramble to mitigate the fallout to yourself, your business, and your people. I’ve met people like this throughout my life. They have an uncanny ability to sound informed and thoughtful, despite being ignorant and shallow. The skills of a charlatan. They start by providing investment or medical advice, then move into politics. We’re surrounded by them.

White House AI & Crypto Czar David Sacks: "Israel is getting hit harder than they've ever been hit before in their history. And we're only two weeks into this.  If this war continues for weeks or months, then Israel could just be destroyed… And then you have to worry about Israel escalating the war by contemplating using a nuclear weapon, which would truly be catastrophic"

The GOAT.
doug leone@dougleone

Everyone knows @wiz_io broke a record reaching $100M ARR in 18 months. What everyone doesn’t know is that the team was using a clever hack - leveraging their Israeli time zone. They’d code all day, and then the engineers would get on the phone to make sales calls all night. Everything about Wiz changed fast in the early days - the idea, the product, the market. What never changed was the teamwork of @assaf_rappaport, Yinon Costica, Roy Reznik & @amiluttwak - their clarity of vision, their ability to listen to customers and iterate, and the commitment to moving faster than anyone else could match. Founders: remember that in any technology cycle, in any market, a willingness to outwork everyone else is a superpower. Congrats to @wiz_io. Excited for your next chapter with @Google
