Slow Ventures ran a 4 hour etiquette class for founders. This is actually a brilliant idea. A non-trivial amount of founders (and vc's) could use some help in this department.

Over the last few months we’ve rebuilt how we work @usv entirely. We’ve always loved being small in size (team; fund, relatively) but with tentacles that reach broadly. Now, that’s easier than ever with an agentic workforce. The agents are on our emails and messages, pushing back, suggesting new ideas, finding opportunities. It’s a work in progress—so, as we always do, we like to publish it half-baked in the hopes that we’ll learn what we’re missing and where we can push further. If you’ve built an agentic workforce to change how your partnership operates, we want to share ideas.

@yrechtman What is this crazy talk? Next are you going to suggest we board the plane starting from the back? You’re making too much sense

Bittersweet to share that I wrapped up at @usv at the end of the year. I’m so grateful to the team for an incredible three years. I couldn’t imagine a better place to learn the craft of venture — or a more brilliant, thoughtful, and generous group of people to learn from. I'll have more to share on what’s next soon, but I’m still investing. In the meantime, I’ll be spending more time in the Bay and would love to see old friends and meet new folks!

Once you realize most annoying VC tweets are meant to appeal to LPs, not founders, it all makes sense.

Thrilled to announce @Lux_Capital's latest $1.5B fund - grateful to continue to partner with founders inventing the future building the most essential infrastructure across AI, automation & bio. Just getting started! 🚀
Lux Capital@Lux_Capital

We started Lux in 2000 with a simple conviction: the biggest opportunities lie at the frontier of science and technology that others find too hard, too early, or too confusing. Twenty-five years later, that conviction hasn't changed. What has changed is that the world has caught on. Now compute, automation, and biology have matured into scalable engineering disciplines, and what was once fringe "deep tech" has become essential infrastructure. New talent, new tools, and new industrial capacity now exist to turn the most cutting-edge technology across the physical, computational, and life sciences into enduring businesses. For these businesses and founders to become category-defining winners, they need meaningful capital and conviction. That is why we are especially excited to announce our largest fund to date, Lux Ventures IX, a $1.5B commitment to investing in the people turning sci-fi into sci-fact. Today entire sectors of aerospace, biotech, defense, industrials, transportation and beyond are being reinvented by a new generation of brilliantly ambitious, often irreverent, scientists and engineers. And while markets have changed and capital reshapes around fewer companies and larger checks, our focus on the craft remains constant. That focus matters because science doesn’t scale itself. The path from a result in the lab, only known to a few, to something durable the entire world will use requires a different kind of partnership. One that deploys the first $100K and the last $100M, that stays through the full arc of company-building, that mobilizes a powerful network of kinetic like-minded founders, and that treats capital as a tool rather than the product. Forty-four people at Lux now manage $7B, still operating with the same discipline and purpose we had on day one. We find and fund founders others have overlooked, back conviction over consensus, and build alongside these rebels of science and tech at every stage. We’re grateful to our valued LPs who've partnered with us through multiple cycles, and to the founders who trust us with their life's work. The mission continues, with even greater intensity and momentum. luxcapital.com/news/announcin…

In 2025 I married my incredible wife Zoë and became a partner at Slow. It was a year of commitments and longtermism and am very happy to be laying down real roots. That this happened at 30 feels auspicious. In 2026 I want to build on that with an investment of time and effort in bottoms up community. The couples Judaism class/dinner series my sister and I started with our respective partners is part of that. So is the commitment to IRL events in NY. More on goals and reflections in my Friday newsletter. Happy new year.

the rollout of the @amtrak next gen acela has been super rough. broken bathroom doors, broken (and uncomfortable) seats, way more delays than normal. on the plus side, the windows are absolutely incredible. But just shows how hard it is to roll out new infrastructure smoothly

Some very happy and surprising news: I'm a Partner at @slow :) In an interview @KevinColleran asked me “where do you see yourself in five years” and I answered “not at Slow!” But big things take time and now I have more time to see things through.

We're excited (and shocked) to announce that @yrechtman is being promoted to Partner. As an explicitly non-expansionary firm there generally is no defined ‘path’ to partner / we don’t really do that. But most great things are exceptions to hard rules

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my $40M pre-seed and seed-stage fund, @SevenStars_VC, where I’ll be focused on partnering with visionary founders building enduring AI application companies across consumer and enterprise technology. Seven Stars is deeply personal. It’s named after my parents, who immigrated from South Korea and started a clothing small business in Downtown Los Angeles - Seven Star Fashion. Their tireless work ethic gave me a future and inspires me to show up for founders with that same dedication. I’m incredibly grateful to our founders, limited partners, co-investors, advisors, and my family for their unwavering support. I joined Redpoint as an intern - a software engineer with a passion for technology and an eagerness to learn. Today, I’m honored to continue this journey as a Managing Director. To the incredible founders who’ve trusted me to be a small part of their story, thank you. It’s been such a privilege. And to Alex, Satish, Erica, Annie and the whole Redpoint crew thank you for taking a chance on me and showing me what great investing looks like. Can’t express how grateful I am and excited for this next chapter!
Redpoint@Redpoint

We're thrilled to announce that @patrickachase has been promoted to Managing Director at Redpoint. Patrick's journey with us began nearly seven years ago, first as a summer intern. From the very beginning, Patrick stood out not just for his sharp intellect and technical depth, but for his humility, team-first mentality, and deep curiosity about what makes great founders and enduring companies. Since then, he's become a cornerstone of our enterprise investing practice. He’s been instrumental in some of our most promising investments across AI, applications, and infrastructure including @attio, @modal_labs, @livekit, @motherduck, @zeddotdev, @_hex_tech, @levelpathai, and @ideogram_ai, which speak volumes about his exceptional ability to identify and partner with transformative teams. Patrick has a rare capacity to see where the world is going and earn the trust of the founders building it. He is known for his technical expertise, thoughtful analysis, and unwavering dedication to the founder journey. He serves not only as a trusted advisor but also as a partner whose perspectives and contributions substantially impact the companies he works with. Internally, Patrick embodies the values that make Redpoint special. He is truth-seeking, intellectually honest, and deeply empathetic, always elevating every conversation while approaching his work with humility. This combination of technical acumen and genuine humility is rare. Above all, he is fiercely competitive yet firmly believes that teamwork produces the best results. This promotion isn't just a reflection of what Patrick has accomplished—it's a vote of confidence in the future he's helping shape. As we kick off the next chapter with Fund X, there's no one more fitting to help lead us forward and build the future of Redpoint. We're privileged to call him a colleague and even more excited for what lies ahead as we continue building with him. Congratulations, Patrick! To adventure and fellowship. - Alex, Erica, Satish, Annie, Logan, Elliot, and Scott redpoint.com/content-hub/wr…

I’m thrilled to share that we have just closed two new funds: the $225M seed-focused Uncork VIII and the $75M opportunity fund, Uncork Plus IV. And today, we’re also celebrating @uncorkcap 21st anniversary. It’s been a long—at times tumultuous—but always incredible journey to reach the firm’s “adulthood” and I couldn’t be prouder of the team we’ve built and the portfolio of founders we’ve had the privilege of backing over the years. After co-managing Uncork with @bandrew in recent years, I’ve asked him to take on the role of sole Managing Partner as we prepared to raise these new funds. I’ve had an absolute blast leading Uncork for 21 years—helping shape the seed industry alongside my fellow “OG’s”—but the time feels right for me to step back from day-to-day management. I’ll continue working closely with our portfolio founders, sourcing new opportunities with my Partners, and investing in the next generation of frontier and deep tech entrepreneurs. I’ll also be carving out space for some long-overdue bucket list travel, quality family time, and launching a small wine project in Walla Walla, WA. Please join me in congratulating Andy as he leads Uncork into its next phase. We couldn’t ask for a better steward of the firm’s future. LFG!
