@Her_Nonymous_D They probably a) planned to sit next to each other anyway, but b) booked the window & aisle hoping that no-one would take the middle and they’d have extra room.

During my recent flight, I didn’t bother purchasing a seat in advance, so I was automatically assigned the middle seat at check-in.
Normally I try to avoid it, but for a short 2 hour flight, I figured I could manage without much stress. It wasn’t ideal, but it also didn’t feel like something worth worrying about too much.
When I got to my row, I noticed an elderly couple already settled in.
The man was on the aisle seat, and his wife was by the window.
They looked comfortable, already in their own little travel rhythm.
I started to slide into the middle seat, mentally preparing myself for a slightly cramped ride.
I had already accepted that I’d just keep to myself and wait for the flight to pass quickly.
Then something unexpected happened.
The man turned to me and….

Kudos to @AirFranceKLM. They destroyed my wife’s suitcase (stuff happens), so we trudged to the service desk. I was hoping for some duct tape and expected to fill out a form where, maybe, they’d send me twenty bucks in six weeks or so.
Nope! The friendly and efficient clerk apologized for the damage, measured our suitcase, went into the back room, and returned with a brand-new suitcase, the same size, still in the shrink wrap. We swapped the contents right there and rolled out of baggage claim with the new suitcase.
Nicely done. That’s the sort of service I’d expect from Singapore Air, not a European carrier.
(By the way, what happened to @SamsoniteUSA? Apparently they’re no longer gorilla-proof…)

The welcome to country was booed again today at the ANZAC service. After the Sydney service, Uncle Ray, a Kabi-Kabi, Gurang-Gurang and South Sea Islander man, told the ABC he wanted the hecklers to understand "this always was and always will be Aboriginal land".
"They should show respect to us as traditional owners," and those who participated in the booing should "understand their place".

This woman said: Just boarded my connecting flight home from Tokyo and guess what? Someone is sitting in my window seat 😂 I can’t make this stuff up… twice in one day!
