Congratulations, the big historical moment has arrived. Breaking news: the UAE now withdraws from OPEC and OPEC+ effective May 1, 2026. The Islamic regime is benefiting from OPEC and OPEC+, and no one should share a table with this terrorist regime.

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the attempted attack on U.S. President Donald Trump. I am relieved that @POTUS the President, the Vice President, the First Lady, and all others are safe. Somaliland unequivocally rejects all forms of political violence, there is no place for it in a democracy. We stand firmly with the United States.

Creativity leads to experimentation and innovation. Using the rhythms of Somaliland classical songs to sing English verses is a pioneering experiment that may lead to successful innovations. Kudos to this young Somaliland poet.

What an amazing song and voice. This is a traditional Somalilander rhythmic expression, often used as an opening or chorus in folk songs (heello) and poetry.

Recent commentary from IRAN (International Rhetoric and Noise) via @IrnaEnglish reflects a pattern where rhetoric often outweighs constructive engagement. It is worth noting that political narratives do not always align with realities on the ground, particularly in contexts such as Somalia, where challenges remain complex and ongoing. Israel and Somaliland exercise their sovereign right to formalize diplomatic relations, as affirmed by their mutual recognition agreement announced in December 2025. Both #Somaliland and #Israel retain the sovereign right to pursue and shape their diplomatic relations in accordance with their national interests, without external interference. Sovereign states like #Somaliland and #Israel advance their strategic partnership, bolstered by Israel’s historic re-recognition and Foreign Minister Sa’ar’s 2026 Hargeisa visit—without seeking external validation. Such relations promote Red Sea stability and mutual prosperity, contrasting sharply with Somalia’s persistent instability, where external narratives fail to foster progress. @IranObserver0 @TimesofIsrael @Jerusalem_Post @SomalilandChro1

What King sized hypocrisy for the African Union to condemn Israel appointing an Ambassador to Somaliland. If even half the AU members were as effective at governing their own nations or as democratic as Somaliland, it would be a functioning organization! garoweonline.com/en/world/afric…

I strongly reject your unfounded, and defamatory statements against the IDF. What you wrote reflects ignorance and a deep lack of understanding. In every war, there are operational accidents, including cases where a military force is harmed by its own fire. Unfortunately, in every war, uninvolved civilians are harmed, especially when terrorists use civilian populations as human shields. However, there is no Western military that fights terrorism more precisely, or on the basis of better intelligence, than the IDF, with a constant effort to minimize civilian casualties. The ratio between terrorist and civilian casualties is better than that of any other Western military. In fact, better than any fighting force in the world. The IDF is a professional and ethical army. For 78 consecutive years, it has faced relentless attempts to eliminate the State of Israel by totalitarian states and some of the most extreme and dangerous terrorist organizations in the world. There is no serious Western democratic military that does not seek to learn from the IDF and its experience. In fact, civilians in European countries also benefit directly from the outcomes of IDF operations. I suggest that instead of preaching morality to others, you personally condemn the disgraceful antisemitic display we saw in the Polish parliament last week. One should be cautious about making irresponsible statements that can ultimately lead to dangerous consequences.

Rwanda Genocide Memorial Day: A Message of Shared Remembrance Dear Esteemed Rwandan Citizens and Global Community, On this poignant Rwanda Genocide Memorial Day, the MAAN Institute for Diplomacy and Global Affairs commemorates the 1994 tragedy that claimed over one million lives in just 100 days. We salute Rwanda’s extraordinary journey, embodied in Kigali’s memorials and the Gacaca courts, which have transformed sorrow into a beacon of hope and national unity. In reflecting on this horror, we must confront the United Nations’ profound inaction. Despite UNAMIR peacekeepers witnessing the massacres at sites like the École Technique Officielle, the world hesitated—failing to reinforce troops or halt the extermination, as documented in subsequent inquiries. This echoes the UN’s silence during Somaliland’s Isaaq Genocide (1988–1989), where Somali regime forces, using aerial bombings, chemical weapons, and mass executions, killed more than 200,000 Isaaq civilians. UN observers in the region reported the atrocities—mass graves at Bur’o and Hargeisa’s destruction—but no intervention came, leaving Somaliland to bury its dead and rise alone. These parallel betrayals compel us: “Never Again” requires proactive diplomacy, swift action, and accountability. Rwanda’s resilience fuels our mission at MAAN Institute to advocate for genocide prevention worldwide, including justice for Somaliland. With deepest respect and unwavering solidarity, MAAN Institute for Diplomacy and Global Affairs Hargeisa, The Republic of Somaliland #Rwanda #RwandaGenocide #IsaaqGenocide #TheRepublicOfSomaliland

Condolence Message on the Passing of Veteran Ethiopian Diplomat Ambassador Konjit Sinegiorgis (1940-2026) The MAAN Institute for Diplomacy and Global Affairs extends its deepest condolences to the Government and people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the family of Ambassador Konjit Sinegiorgis on her passing. Ambassador Konjit, a trailblazing diplomat who joined Ethiopia’s foreign service in the 1950s, served her nation with unparalleled distinction for over five decades. As the second female ambassador in Ethiopian history, she shattered barriers, rising from desk officer to senior leadership roles in missions across Ottawa, Cairo, Tel Aviv, Vienna, and beyond. Her pivotal contributions to the African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the South Sudan peace process, alongside her work on decolonization during the Organization of African Unity era, leave an indelible mark on continental and global diplomacy. We particularly mourn the loss of a pioneering figure for women diplomats across Africa, whose perseverance inspired generations amid early gender-based challenges. Her words—“My career has been my life… there is no greater honor than serving one’s country to the fullest”—resonate as a timeless testament to selfless service. The MAAN Institute stands in solidarity with Ethiopian and African women diplomats, celebrating Ambassador Konjit’s enduring legacy of excellence, resilience, and dedication to peace and progress. May her soul rest in eternal peace. MAAN Institute for Diplomacy and Global Affairs 7 April 2026
