It’s still insane that Walker Smith has been dismissed by Waitrose for attempting to stop a shoplifter nicking Easter eggs.
Meanwhile, the shoplifter is still walking around, probably still shoplifting whilst Walker ponders how he will pay the bills.

BREAKING: Iran is organizing nationwide human chains of youth, athletes, and artists at every power plant in the country at 2 PM Tehran time tomorrow, per Iran's Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The campaign is named "Human Chain of Iranian Youth for a Bright Future." Its slogan: "attacking public infrastructure is a war crime."
International signage will be displayed for global media coverage. At least 2,000 NGO members are confirmed. The chains form 13 hours before Trump's 8 PM ET strike deadline.
Iran is gathering civilians at the exact infrastructure the US has threatened, and televising it to the world.

I am a lifelong Waitrose customer.
I reject your policy of sacking an exceptionally brave employee for tackling shoplifting.
You need more employees like Walker Smith, not fewer.

Walker Smith was sacked for trying to prevent a repeat shoplifter from stealing Easter eggs from a Waitrose Store. Smith had worked there for 17 years. Apparently stopping thieves is against company policy. As a former shopkeeper can I say that policy is insane. No wonder there were more than 500,000 recorded shoplifting offences last year but we all know it’s running into millions of thefts each year. Waitrose should take this have a go hero back pronto- but if not another retailer should snap him up. The CEO of Waitrose needs to review this bonkers stupid policy too- shoplifting is theft and must be stopped otherwise it will further spiral and it’s the ordinary customer who will pay with higher prices. Wake up Waitrose and smell the coffee- before someone nicks it!

This morning, right after the dawn call to prayer, they dragged Ali Fahim out and executed him. He was only 23 years old.
