🚨 Massive Illegal Commercial Hall Expansion Under MMRDA Scanner in Goregaon West An allegedly unauthorised commercial hall situated between Building No. P-9 and P-3, Oshiwara District Centre, Goregaon (West), Mumbai – 400104, has reportedly expanded far beyond its originally identified size. Sources claim that while the illegal structure was earlier measured at around 15,000 sq ft, it has now been converted into a Ground + 1 structure, effectively increasing the built-up area to nearly 30,000 sq ft. Open spaces surrounding the premises have also allegedly been encroached upon and covered with additional hall, kitchen and washroom structures. ⚠️ Serious Questions on Enforcement According to sources, despite repeated complaints and visible expansion of the structure, Dy. Planner (Slum Cell) Mr. Daate has allegedly failed to conduct a fresh site inspection to assess the present extent of violations. Activists and local residents have raised concerns over why authorities have not taken note of the substantial increase in construction despite the apparent changes on the ground. ⚖️ Allegations Against Legal & Enforcement Departments Sources further allege that crucial violations and discrepancies in documents submitted by the owner-occupiers — Ravi V. Naik, Mangal V. Naik and Balgopal V. Naik (Sammangal Udyog & Printing Works) — are not being properly presented before the court. Serious allegations have also been raised regarding the functioning of certain officials from the Slum Cell, Legal Department and Encroachment Department of MMRDA, with claims that undue influence and under-the-table dealings are preventing effective action and suppressing important issues related to the case. 👮 Demand for Independent Inquiry Residents and activists are now demanding an independent inquiry into the role of concerned officials and seeking immediate action against the alleged illegal construction. Aug 2025 notice issued , Till date no speaking order from @mybmcWardE , Supreme Court directions appear to mean absolutely nothing to JE Nikhil Kulkarni and AE Dattatray Patil. Now a dangerous new practice is allegedly being pushed , claiming a Building Proposal plan can be treated as “approved” only on the basis of an AE’s signature, even when mandatory signatures of the Sub Engineer and Executive Engineer are missing. Such conduct does not reflect lack of knowledge , It raises serious questions of deliberate procedural dilution , abuse of position, and possible corruption to protect illegalities. 🚨 Illegal Construction in B Ward Peaks Under AMC Ashwani Joshi The B Ward of the MCGM has allegedly become a hotspot for rampant illegal construction and unauthorised development. One of the latest examples highlighted by residents is an alleged illegal Ground +8 structure at Kazi Sayed Street, Masjid Bandar West, reportedly constructed without proper civic permissions and approvals. Despite repeated concerns over unauthorised developments in the area, the structure allegedly continues to stand openly without strict enforcement action. Citizens and activists allege that such blatant violations could not continue without administrative protection, raising serious questions over corruption, collusion, and complete failure of enforcement within the ward administration. 🚨 No Action Despite Assembly Questions and CM-Level Intervention The issue of illegal constructions in B and C wards was officially raised in the Maharashtra Assembly on 22 March 2022 by MLA Amin Patel during the state budget session. At the time, Urban Development Minister (now Deputy Chief Minister) Eknath Shinde had reportedly sought a detailed list of unauthorised buildings operating in these wards. However, years later, no major demolition or enforcement action has been carried out against several disputed structures. With no restraining court orders against demolition, the continued inaction by civic authorities is being viewed as highly questionable and indicative of wilful negligence by responsible officials. 🚨 Demand for Immediate Suspension and High-Level Inquiry Serious demands are now being raised for immediate action against AMC Ashwani Joshi, under whose supervision the alleged rise in illegal construction activities in B Ward has reportedly intensified. Citizens and activists are urging Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide to immediately suspend AMC Ashwani Joshi and initiate a high-level departmental inquiry into the functioning of the ward office. Repeated complaints , Repeated inspections , Repeated proceedings , Yet the alleged unauthorized commercial activity reportedly continues functioning at @mybmcWardE without visible enforcement.
