Just stop you can’t get on any military base unless you have a Real ID , passport or other identification like a birth certificate and SS card it’s always been this way you just can’t enter a base oh and by the way I know I have been to Parris Island numerous times for graduation and to go see my son who was a DI their so just stop the propaganda!

They do get priority, but the railroads pulled a fast one. They're ultimately in charge of infrastructure so if the siding can't accommodate a fright train, then they'll clear it before they clear Amtrak. Little games like this. Amtrak basically needs its own tracks to have any shot.

The current 6 hour train ride from Emeryville to Bakersfield suffers from uncomfortable seating and a look of hot food. No wonder the train was empty. High-speed rail would be an improvement, but it'll be a long time for that to materialize. sfgate.com/travel/article…

What do y’all make of this? Middleton and Abbott are sure proud of this one.
Seems to me this “law” is an example of sticking it to a vulnerable economic class. Whatever small pleasure a soda or candy provides is no longer available if you’re using SNAP benefits.
When I think of all the corporate favors, benefits, subsidies that Middleton, Abbott and the rest of the MAGA friendly bunch provide their donors, with our tax dollars, it makes me go berserk. (H/t to Tom Laughlin’s “Billy Jack”).
Seriously, this kind of virtue signaling (“There! We did it! Now the poor can’t pleasure themselves on sweets at the taxpayer’s expense….”) is so outrageous.
This is the level state government has come to.
Parents relying on SNAP will have to find another way to purchase Easter candy or treat for their kids.
I’m sure it is better for your health to not drink a coke or eat a candy bar. But that’s not the point. I’m objecting to the sheer humiliation of this bill and the boastful pride of the legislators who really think they scored a BIG POLICY WIN by snatching the candy bar from a kid’s hand.
How about corporate welfare. How about the never ending rise in our utility bills after Winter Storm URI. Do that now.
Any legislator that voted for this bill really should be confronted for all that’s left undone.
