i rarely write tweets like this, but in the last few years we've worked with a lot of service providers for @rektguy/@rektdrinks and it's generally been tough to find people who i) get things done with good accuracy ii) get things done within a fast timeframe. since starting $REKT, we've worked with @Web3Auditing on a range of different projects and these guys have delivered every single time. just wanted to shout this out coz it is honestly rare to find teams with this level of efficiency!

QQL Monthly is back! To kick things off, we’re looking for new seeds generated in 2026 only. We want to see how you explore the edges of the algorithm: small, large, wild, not... explosive, random, vertical... play with color, turbulence, rings. Or go completely random, hit generate without selecting a thing, and watch the surprises flow across the screen. There are no limits other than the year of creation. To check when a seed was generated, open the seed to view all traits. At the very bottom, you’ll see what year it was created. This seed was created in 2026 with random traits. An atmosphere soft shapes reaching toward wide, open views, showing how simple rules can create endless possibilities. A special thanks to Alohi for leading this month's theme! Submissions open January 15 in the Tyler Hobbs Discord.

Generative art emerges when code meets human creativity. In Marfa, we spoke with @tylerxhobbs about the magic of controlled chaos, the future of onchain permanence, and why physical scale still matters. Even for digital art. (Link below)

A real turning point. The tip of the spear Beeple’s (@beeple) sale at @ChristiesInc pulled global attention into the space Refik’s (@refikanadol) ‘Unsupervised’ at @MuseumModernArt opened the gates for institutions Zero Ten by @ArtBasel is the moment digital art enters contemporary art as a movement that can no longer be dismissed by fairs or galleries We made it here together. And we’re not going back

Some things I cannot get over from today’s Basel VIP day, I’m just gonna type once and rip bc I’m eager to get these memories out: Best mic drop moment for digital artists I’ve ever seen. The exhibition looked so damn good, our energy was so high it made the other half of the fair feel vapid. Perennial Basel VIP goers walked a fair booth after booth of what is honestly repetitive “trad” art and then BOOM, they’re instantly stimulated by the masterfully organized Zero to 10 exhibition. They’re hit with the largest crowd they never expected, many of which was anchored by 50-100 crypto friends rekindling, and ready to lend their knowledge to explain the works in front of them like they’re the artists. Speaking to Scott Winkelmann (@beeple bro) about how incredible it was to see all the smiling faces videotaping Regular Animals. He mentioned 50+ inquiries for buying one (they sold out before i walked in). It will be the most viral piece in all of Art Miami. Coin Laundry by @XCOPYART with incredible representation and support by @miminguyenmimi and @shape , so busy at times, it was all hands on deck from @bonafidehan @pravijn and anyone who knew what was going on to onboard attendees with their soap. Sergey Brin was there and seen admiring @dmitricherniak’s Floor Ringer, the booth looked stunning huge congrats @Vince_Van_Dough @anikojay and all who repped. @ArtOnBlockchain and @jeffgdavis smiling ear to ear, happy to be recounting the story of Art Blocks with a passion no other gallerist has had before. Snowfro, the apex collector turned innovator in the space coming full circle to showcasing and selling AB minted Quines by @larvalabs . @CaballeroAnaMa reciting her beautiful and poem in front of 100s of fully engaged listeners, a wonderfully intimate break during the day. The amount of questions and genuine interest I felt from bankers and their groups of clients awing at the method and output @tylerxhobbs works, and seeing @leyla_solos team handle the interest with the perfect tact. @sofiagarcia_io @micolmicolmicol @fellowship working a central pillar of the fair, selling all the @ix_shells works on display, one of my favorite place to watch reactions from throughout the day. @jackbutcher crushing it as the labeled “manager” and helped his guests Self Checkout and unknowingly mint their first NFTs. The most engaging of conceptual art many ppl can microbuy ($1, can do online too) @mpkoz giving the most intricate and interesting of details on the masterful work he produced with @heft_gallery @eli_schein and @redbeardnft with such hospitable charm working the entire exhibition floor. Making intros and giving full context tours. Truly amazing work my bros, I’m so happy to see the 10/10 execution. I’ll look to end by saying i don’t care what the culturally deficient say about us, digital art is the artistic movement of our time. I just witnessed the “cool”, elite crowd of society come into our corner of the Art Basel fair and smile with intrigue as they realized why our generation is not going to be buying $60m Rothkos. Our internet native generation deserves this movement. It’s uniquely ours and it’s real as fuck, in the deepest of bears. It wasn’t passed onto us as inheritance, it grew from twitter telegram and discord. It is extreme ownership of what is truly ours, and these Basel VIPs don’t even know (yet) how based it feels to enjoy the true sovereignty of this movement. I didn’t plan to go every day, but now i feel a sense of pride i want to enjoy more days of the week so i will happily be there daily. I need to get my time with @yatreda @mayaonthenet @joepease !! This was a perfect exhibition in my book. 🫡🫡

Gm🍃 - As we’ve discussed over my past few posts, there are many reasons collectors collect art; possibly as many reasons as collectors themselves. Today I’d like to talk about it in a deeper way. - TL;DR - ask not what our space can do for you, but what you can do for our space. - My purpose in our space is simple. I meet artists and projects where they are in their trajectory, and if the time is right, I do what I can to contribute to their evolution. Each move I make is based on what I feel is best for our community. Simple. If you’ve known me for years and then followed along with my collecting lately, you’d notice it’s been much different. Since 2021, I’ve almost exclusively collected art from what we may classify as either “emerging” or “low visibility” artists. In this way, my overarching goal has been to sponsor unseen talent, give excitement and hope to the army of lesser seen artists (who create the lifeblood of our space), and to encourage the greatness I see in each of us. But lately, my collecting has been different. I’ve been purchasing what many consider to be elite art from well established artists and collections. This all started when I noticed a growing number of well respected peers here reaching out to me and asking what I thought about our space. We’ve been through our ups and downs but honestly I’ve never sensed so much genuine concern and trepidation before. Eventually I couldn’t ignore this. I determined that at this time it’s not generally in the best interest of the space for me to buy artwork as I normally do, but rather to make sizable, noticeable investments in 5 and 6 figure artworks associated with well known crypto artists. Maybe those artists don’t need the funding in the same way as the lesser known ones, it’s true. However what our space needs right now is to stay strong and continue to persevere during a difficult macro cycle. We need high profile collectors to take us seriously and to raise some eyebrows. This, I believe, is what’s best for all of us… even those who don’t feel they’ve reached their success arc yet. This is also how I begin to build a collection that gives my vision for our space a bigger audience and voice. Recently, an artist made a comment that collectors seem to only collect from legends. I argue that this isn’t true, but also that legends started out just like the masses and by virtue of their overall mastery, have inspired many investments in their creations. We are all the same with the same opportunities ahead, just at different points along our timelines and different decisions to be made. - And with all of this in mind, I recently collected my first Fidenza. It’s long been something I aspired to, not as a personal trophy or a flex, but simply to own such a piece of art history. But the time was never right, nobody ever needed me to own something like this - who would it benefit? But then, with the shifting winds, came the perfect moment for me to make this move. It was terrifying actually. I don’t believe I could have done it without the support and conviction of my beautiful fiancée @nudity_slip, who loves #250 as much as I do. I have no doubt in my mind that this artwork will be worth $20M one day, and it will likely still be in my family’s vault at that time. I also believe most if not all of the art I’ve collected will be incredibly valuable. - I’m curious, what do you genuinely feel the near term future holds for our space? How about mid term? Long term? What do you believe will be our fate? Or maybe, our destiny? What is your highest aspiration here? What can you do to lift us all up?

Art Basel Miami X SOLOS When I first entered the digital art space - the NFT space - what drew me in was the sense that something genuinely new was happening. It felt underground, full of people experimenting outside the usual art-world structures. SOLOS was born out of that energy, but also out of a need for focus. The space was moving fast, loud, and constantly shifting. We wanted to create a format that slows things down - a space where a single artist can be seen clearly, without the noise. I never imagined that, in such a short time, we’d be showing at Art Basel. And I definitely didn’t expect that it would be with an artist like Tyler Hobbs. Tyler is someone who approaches generative art with a tangible level of depth and intention. His work isn’t just about code as a tool - it’s about how structure, chance, and visual systems can still feel human. He has a way of folding rigorous logic into something emotional, something that breathes. You always feel the thoughtfulness behind the form. He’s weathered every shift in this space without losing that focus. He doesn’t follow the noise or react to every market cycle - he just keeps creating, refining, expanding the language of what art can be. I’m proud that we get to present him through SOLOS: to position his work within the wider contemporary art context, while recognising that what he’s doing is still ahead of where most of the field is willing to go. Big thanks to @eli_schein and the @ArtBasel team for welcoming us. And of course the biggest thanks to @tylerxhobbs for trusting us with his beautiful new works.

On October 30, 2020 'THE FIRST DROP' by @beeple debuted on Nifty Gateway. Five years later his 'DIFFUSE CONTROL' is at LACMA. "Beeple’s work seeks to dissolve boundaries between artist and audience, making the creative act a shared experience" reads their website. This has been a consistent throughline. In 2020 it was charging $1 USD for editions of 'POLITICS IS BULLSHIT'. In the years since, through live Everydays at Beeple Studios and beyond. At LACMA, through audience remixing and print generation. Things move fast around here. Sometimes it's good to take a step back and appreciate the immense progress made in a relatively short time. If you weren't around for the beginning in 2020, this is how it felt: x.com/RogerDickerman… Happy anniversary Beeple!
