Concerted efforts of #NCC towards strengthening youth empowerment, skilling and nation-building in Maharashtra continue to gather momentum. Hon’ble Higher & Technical Education Minister Shri Chandrakant Patil today chaired a crucial high-level meeting at Mantralaya, Mumbai, with senior ministry officials and ADG Maharashtra Dte. The meeting focused on NCC’s expanding role across the state including recent initiatives in Drone Training, Cyber Training, Disaster Management preparedness, Anti-Drug awareness, youth leadership development and the urgent need for mandated modern, dedicated training infrastructure to support effective cadet training at laid down scale. Hon’ble Minister appreciated NCC’s growing outreach and assured full support from the state, including closer institutional coordination, enhanced access to college infrastructure for NCC activities and support to the pilot camps being launched by NCC in Mumbai and Pune under the #PMInternshipScheme in partnership with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Special emphasis was laid on youth skilling, employability, #NariShakti initiatives, strengthening hostel and training facilities and accelerating implementation of NCC as an elective subject in colleges. NCC’s Mt Deo Tibba Expedition and selection trials for the All-Girls High Altitude Long Trek to Parang La concluded successfully on 25 May 2026 at Manali. The rigorous selection process witnessed enthusiastic participation by cadets from across the country, reflecting the spirit of adventure and endurance promoted by NCC. Following the completion of the trials, 24 cadets (12 SD and 12 SW) have been selected for the prestigious Mt Deo Tibba Expedition. The selected cadets will now undergo intensive pre-expedition training and acclimatization to prepare for the challenging summit attempt in the high-altitude terrain of the Himalayas. Preparations by Cdts of NCC Gp Jorhat for Pre RDC camps were inspected by the Group Commander, Brig Karnail Singh today at NCC Training Academy at Jorhat during the ongoing CATC camp of 11 Assam Bn NCC. The Indian Air Force provided timely airlift assistance to NCC cadets stranded in Imphal after the completion of the Air Wing NCC Camp on 20 May 2026. In view of the prevailing situation in Manipur, cadets from Jorhat and Guwahati were unable to travel home by road. The IAF conducted a special airlift operation on 23 May 2026 comprising three AN-32 aircraft evacuating 60 cadets to Jorhat and 72 cadets to Guwahati. A vibrant Summer Camp was organised by Army Public School No 2, #Jabalpur in May 2026, transforming regular learning spaces into cheerful hubs of creativity, curiosity and joyful discovery for young learners. The week-long camp brought together a lively mix of experiential activities including Mud Magic, Movie Magic, Yoga, Water Dance, puppet shows, flameless cooking, art, games and interactive learning sessions.
