

A major randomized trial published this week in The Lancet Public Health shows that simple warning labels indicating food products ‘high in sugar, salt or saturated fat’ are far more effective than complex numeric labels. Consumers identified unhealthy foods faster. This evidence reinforces what several countries have already implemented clear warning labels are the most effective way to protect public health.
