#DELHI: Condemning the reported abduction of six Naga men, the #Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD) appealed to “the conscience-keepers within the Kuki community” to intervene and ensure their safe release. The NSUD further objected to a proposed protest by the #Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi-NCR on May 16, alleging that the protest sought to shift blame onto #Nagas over the killing of the Thadou church leaders. While affirming support for democratic protest, the union urged KSO Delhi-NCR not to target specific Naga tribes or organisations in its protest materials, posters, or slogans. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝘂𝗸𝗶 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀?? This question is growing louder with every passing hour, yet there is silence from those in power. Families are living in fear and uncertainty while innocent lives remain unaccounted for. How long will the government remain passive? Why has there been no decisive action to secure their safe return? We strongly urge the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and all security agencies to immediately locate and rescue the remaining hostages before the situation worsens further. The safety and lives of citizens cannot be treated as secondary. We also appeal to #Tangkhul/#ManipurNaga civil society organisations and all involved groups to act with humanity and conscience. The continued detention of hostages only deepens wounds and pushes communities further away from peace and reconciliation. Enough silence. Enough delay.
