I used (attempted) it 5 days a week 10 yrs ago on my daily cycle commute. I had a permanent bruise on my hip from carrying my bike up and down those stairs. You'd think it would be fixed by now. If you ride an ebike, forget it!

@choink @camcycle @m_Cycle2Work @UKCycleChat Well done you 🙂 I have the joy of the Dartford Crossing on my daily commute, but when I cycle instead (they have a free cycle pick-up service) I save £10 a day. I do this 2 or 3 times a week. For me tho the biggest win is the benefit to my mental health by being on the bike!

I don't know if anyone needs some motivation to cycle to work but if you do, hope this helps... I started cycling to work this year and each time I put aside the money I would have spent on driving, car park fees or taking the bus (depending on which office I cycled to) 1/2

@willnorman @thamesclippers Any decent crossing over the Thames for bikes twds the East is of course welcome. Particularly as the Greenwich and Woolwich foot tunnels are generally unfit for use as the lifts rarely work. Not sure I'd be happy paying £3.95 though. A bridge would be far better!

@carlafrancome Glad you got your feet warmed up! Cold feet are the worst.... I often wear ski socks (Decathlon are great value) and being longer they keep your calves warm too. Oh, and waterproof socks are an absolute Game-Changer!! Cold wet feet are the worst-worst!

After Hampton Court Palace at about 40 KM, we stopped at the cafe at Molesey boat club. By this point my feet were like ice- I’d gone for one pair of socks and leather shoes … they needed some serious warming up. But how?! … 4/13

Oh yes! We made it to The Swan near Windsor! I’ve never been so happy to see a 🦢 The amazing Kate is now signed up to Islington Cycle Club and joined us, and today was a smasher - 80 KM, with a lot of it gravel along the Thames. Some of it was really stunning … 1/13

Needed a tiny part for a beleaguered pannier rack. Big bike retailer unable to help but @meridiancycle saved the day. Shows the value of a good local bike shop. Even better, it’s located on Cycleway 4 🧰

@bikeshopgirlcom As someone with ADHD, visual learning is key. Better still with a video tutorial such as YouTube as I can pause or rewind if I need to! My short-term memory is very poor. so being able to 'watch and do' means I'm more likely to remember it 🙂
