@kobedryman @byelin One has to be stupid to think that the survival rate could 2x for black docs over white docs. That would require white docs to have a survival rate under 50% Anyone w a brain who thinks about it for just a sec realizes this is highly implausible, and would have double checked

I welcome the hate for this, but the whole "Ketanji Brown Jackson is stupid" discourse is itself stupid and also racist. There's literally no evidence from her opinions or questions that she's stupid. It's just people who themselves are ignorant about the law. Being in a one person dissent happens sometimes (see Alito in the WBC case). Or if you want some famous heroic examples, Justice Harlan in Plessy. Same was true for Thomas, who has faced this "DEI hire" stuff for 35 year. He has a judicial philsophy that I deeply disagree with, but he's brilliantly smart.

3 out of 4 men have expressed the preference for a wife *and* a girlfriend. This has been consistent since the beginning of time. But you see, we don't care if men want that because turns out it's bad for society. Similarly, we don't give a fuck if boys and girls want girls to stay home. It's a bad idea.
Brad Wilcox@BradWilcoxIFS

"By 2024, 3 out of 4 boys and half of girls don’t disagree w/ the idea that it’s best if men are the achievers & women take care of the home and family. Those numbers are all-time highs in the history of the survey." @jean_twenge

@AllTheFauxbias @byelin Political partisans, of all flavors, often cite evidence they know to be dubious because it fits their narrative and might convince others. Now I don’t think this is good, but it’s also not evidence of stupidity. Her primary objective is to advance a set of principles.

@byelin She wrote in an opinion that a black woman having a black doctor doubles the baby’s chance of survival Anyone with a brain knows this incredibly unlikely to be true The paper, later shown to suffer confounding problems, claimed the death rate doubled, not the survival rate

@JamesMiles21 @NickAPappas @Timodc @Lauren_V_Egan These guys will always have some dubious argument for why the people they don’t like can be safely shunned. Their catch-22 is that there aren’t enough people like them to win, but they’re categorically unwilling to build coalitions with anyone who challenges their worldview.

“If people really are arguing that the price of winning is becoming like a bigoted misogynist like Hasan Piker, then I’ll take not winning,” Jonathan Cowan told @Lauren_V_Egan. This seems like a bad message to me given the state of things. thebulwark.com/p/how-big-is-t…

@dekker Thanks for saying this. I’m not religious but strongly support freedom of belief and speech. But it’s been jarring to see so many ppl react to Ivey with “oh yeah, that’s just a normal Christian guy being persecuted for doing normal Christian things.” Glad to see pushback on that.

This isn’t meant to come off as a knock to CE. I’m a Christian - and a basketball player. 90% of the NBA is openly Christian. What I find maddening in all this is Christians online twisting the story into “Ivey got waived because he is a Christian.” That’s just a false statement and you’re pushing drama even further. There are guys that proclaim their faith all over the NBA - it’s a shared faith. There are pre-game Chapel services in EVERY arena where guys come together to worship. There are post-game prayer communities that are visible to fans and cameras. This isn’t an intolerance issue by the NBA. Far from it. The league wants guys to proclaim what they believe. With that; You will be fired in ANY job where you become a workplace nightmare. If you continually disrupt the peace and happiness of your colleagues, you will be held accountable. It’s as simple as that.

@JaneCaro Calling yourself “unpaid” while you live in a nice house, all of your needs met, vacations and hobbies, are entitled to 50% of accumulating marital assets… idk feels pretty entitled and out of touch.

Many women do not want to ‘stay home’. It’s boring, repetitive and you are an unpaid servant. It also predisposes you to poverty if your husband gets bored & dumps you. Also, women have outperformed men in education for a century. Maybe you guys should stay home.
Henry VIII@SussexHenryVIII

My hot take is that young men who cannot afford for their significant other to stay home feel emasculated and it's much easier to insist that women are bitches then it is to actually fix what killed the middle class.

@Hohounk @puddy811 @robkhenderson I don’t see what agency has to do with anything. It’s a bad outcome, that uniquely and frequently impacts young women, that I worry about. “Well she CHOSE to have sex.” So what? Does that make her any less pregnant? Make her being pregnant any less harmful?

Reminds me of a fascinating finding: When asked about kids in general, conservatives are more worried about boys; liberals are more worried about girls But when asked about their own kids, parents on both the left and right are more worried about their sons than their daughters

@Barnz0ttv @RecruitBoss @Fullcourtpass @JCowleyHoops Why don’t you go to work today, ask each of your coworkers if they fornicate, and tell some of them they’re evil and going to hell? That has never been acceptable in any workplace. There are lots of anti-gay opinions in pro sports; the issue is acting like a crazy person at work.

Who gives a fuck what this dude thinks let him come to play basketball. Its almost like people aren't allowed to have their own opinions anymore...

Internal issues leading to Jaden Ivey’s exit from the Bulls, per @JCowleyHoops - Destroyed the locker room “sanctuary” - Constant preaching made players uncomfortable - Religious rhetoric “pressed” upon teammates daily - Told players who was “righteous and unrighteous” Bulls reportedly viewed the behavior as “weirdness” in the workplace (h/t @TheNBABase)

Every voter should understand how reckless this is. Every Congressperson of good conscience should denounce it. Israel, the one democracy in the Middle East, is our strongest ally, and they have been fighting for years to defeat terrorists who hate America. You can disagree with Israel’s actions, but to suggest America should stop providing defensive weapons is the same thing as saying we should stop protecting innocent civilians from being hit by rockets. Is that @AOC’s actual position?

I say this in all seriousness. Leave your politics and your religion out of the workplace. No one wants to come to work and here your bullshit. Leave it at the house

@RecruitBoss @Fullcourtpass @JCowleyHoops They answer questions about politics from reporters in the press room. Far cry from bringing it into the locker room, lecturing their players on politics, telling them who is and isn’t “righteous.” Nash and Popovich have done that a combined zero times.

Okay....so let's change that to a political theme... Popovich and Nash constantly rant about politics. They are the head coaches. In effect they... - Destroy locker room "sanctuary" - Constant political preaching makes players uncomfortable. - Political rhetoric "pressed" upon teammates daily - Told players which political followers were "right or wrong" But because it is religion he is penalized, but Popovich and Nash are not.
