India needs to move towards One Nation, One Medical Treatment, where access to best medical care is available to all, regardless of income or influence. That is exactly why I questioned the low health allocation in this Budget and demanded a relook in Parliament. In this Budget, health gets around 2% of total government expenditure, roughly ₹1 lakh crore. But the real gap is bigger. Under the National Health Policy 2017, India committed to spending 2.5% of GDP on public health. In 2026, we are still at around 0.5% of GDP.We are nowhere near our own target. Other countries understand the value of health spending. Kyonki jaan hai toh jahaan hai. The US spends around 18% of GDP on healthcare, the UK around 12%, Germany around 13%, and countries like Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Japan and Spain spend around 10%. The consequences are visible. Government hospitals are understaffed and under-equipped. Overworked doctors, too few beds, shortages of machines and medicines, and waiting dates that delay treatment. When families cannot wait, they are pushed to excruciatingly expensive private hospitals. One health emergency then becomes a debt emergency.

Swati Maliwal exposed the hospital loot in Parliament. And she is absolutely right. ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh advance before admission Room rent costlier than 5 star hotels Outside lab tests rejected Medicines sold at full MRP only Even masks, gloves, sanitizer added to the bill This is not healthcare. This is legalized extortion. Patients are treated like customers, not humans. Make the Clinical Establishments Act 2010 mandatory nationwide. Hospitals should heal people, not bankrupt families.

After hearing from the doctor that her son Léo’s cancer could no longer be treated, that no therapy was working anymore & the only goal was “to keep him comfortable until the end”… Claire went to his room. Léo was sitting on his bed, watching videos on his tablet. She sat beside him, rested her head against his & they had this heartbreaking conversation: Me: Breathing hurts, doesn’t it? Léo: Uh… yeah. Me: Does it hurt all the time? Léo: (looking down) Yes… Me: This cancer is awful… You know, you don’t have to fight anymore. Léo: I don’t have to? (with a small smile) But I’ll keep fighting for you, Mom! Me: No, sweetheart… You’re doing it for me? Léo: Well… yes. Me: And what’s a mom’s job? Léo: To protect you! (with his big smile) Me: My love… I can’t protect you here anymore. The only way to do it now is from the sky. (My heart shattered.) Léo: Then I’ll go to the sky and play while I wait for you! You’ll come, right? Me: Of course I’ll come! You know you can’t get rid of Mom that easily! Léo: Thanks, Mom! I’ll play while I wait for you! That was their last real conversation. In the hours that followed, Claire never left his side. They played, laughed, watched videos. & fought the “bad guys” with their toy guns. They made the most of every moment. An hour before he left, he snuggled into her arms again & told her how he wanted to be remembered: “As a policeman.” A little later, Claire went to the bathroom. When she came back, Léo was sleeping deeply. His little body had given up. But in one final breath, he opened his eyes, smiled & whispered: “I love you, Mom.” Then he closed his eyes as Claire softly sang into his ear… Léo passed away at just 4 years old, in his mother’s arms, after a brave fight against cancer. The photo shared isn’t just one picture, it’s two. In the first, you see Léo lying on the bathroom rug, waiting for his mom to finish her shower. In the second… the same rug. Empty. Just a silent rug, where a perfect little boy once waited for his mom. If tonight your child is near you, put your phone down, forget what you’re doing, & give them the longest, warmest hug. 💛

Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda strongly came down on his own government machinery and the contractor during an inspection of the ongoing Metro Phase 2B project from Nagawara to Bagalur Cross on Sunday, openly expressing his frustration over prolonged delays, poor execution, and the hardships being imposed on the public.During the inspection, the minister pulled up Metro officials and contractors for incomplete pillars, blocked roads, and footpaths filled with construction debris, which have severely affected traffic flow and pedestrian movement. He ordered the immediate clearance of waste, removal of unnecessary roadblocks, and directed officials to speed up construction work to reduce inconvenience to commuters and residents.Byre Gowda expressed shock that Metro pillars at some locations have remained incomplete for nearly two years. Questioning the lack of accountability and planning, he asked officials why a stretch of road had been shut for over a year with little visible progress. “You shut this stretch a year ago. What have you been doing all this time? Does it take one year just to complete a pile cap? Now you are saying in two months you will do magic. Where is the pillar? I can’t even see it,” he remarked sharply, taking a direct dig at the contractor. He also criticised the irrational blocking of roads, pointing out that construction activity at one location was causing road closures and traffic chaos elsewhere. “If work is happening at Hebbal, then block Hebbal. Why are you closing roads here and troubling people unnecessarily?” he asked, highlighting the lack of coordination and sensitivity towards public suffering. The minister further flagged the pathetic condition of footpaths and service roads, which were clogged with debris and construction waste, making movement extremely difficult and unsafe for pedestrians and motorists. He directed officials to clear the debris immediately and restore access for the public. Acting on his instructions, officials cleared the waste on the spot in his presence. Raising serious concerns over worsening traffic congestion in North Bengaluru, Byre Gowda pointed out that several roads had been blocked without justification, leading to daily traffic snarls and long delays for commuters. He instructed officials to remove avoidable barricades without delay and ensure smoother vehicular movement.Criticising the authorities for testing public patience, the minister stressed that prolonged and poorly managed construction work was unfairly burdening citizens who have been enduring inconvenience for years. He warned officials that delays, lack of planning, and casual execution would not be tolerated any longer, and called for strict accountability and better coordination to ensure Metro works are completed at the earliest. He подчеркed that development cannot come at the cost of endless suffering for the public, and authorities must respect the patience and time of Bengalureans #bangalore #bengaluru #bagalur #yelahanka @krishnabgowda @BlrCityPolice @blrcitytraffic @alokkumar6994 @DgpKarnataka @KarnatakaCops @Lolita_TNIE @ChristinMP_ @Tejasvi_Surya @PCMohanMP

@GBA_office Why doesn't the government invest in placing such industrial waste bins in prone areas? Europe has at least one of these for every apartment complex and residential properties and especially more near pubs and restaurants.
