BREAKING: U.S. to impose new 50% tariff on Canada over alcohol bans, dairy quotas.

Carney was with Trump yesterday. Today Canada gets hit with 50% tariffs on more goods. So far he hasn’t been able to handle anything when it comes to tariffs & trade with the U.S. it’s only been getting worse, and I think it’s on purpose. Carney couldn’t care less about the Canadians who are affected by this, his plan is going perfectly. Beat down Canadians until they are begging for more Government intervention.

This story is horrendous. Even worse than last week's revelation that caused Cho's resignation from cabinet. If it's true...and he and his team can't connect the dots and/or justify these expenses...then I don't see how Ford can keep him in caucus.

On the former, I put together the national coalition to oppose carbon taxes, as this 2018 Maclean’s cover story details. I repealed the Alberta NDP carbon tax as the first legislative act of my government in 2019. Then I promptly kept a platform commitment to challenge the constitutionality of the federal carbon tax, securing the supportive interventions of several other provinces. We won at the Alberta Court of Appeal, but unfortunately not at the Supreme Court. Through all of that I think it’s fair to say I was the most outspoken opponent of carbon taxes as a costly but pointless policy instrument. On the latter, as a private citizen I’m not exactly in a position to hold any government accountable. But if you think some more water bombers are going to prevent or extinguish hundreds of wildfires raging across the enormity of the Canadian hinterland, then I’ve got some swampland in Northern Ontario to sell you. Sure, by all means let’s buy more water bombers. And let’s implement sensible policies globally to control GHG emissions, and to adapt to the effects of climate change. Let’s also improve forest management practices on Crown lands. But don’t expect that any or all of that will prevent large wildfires as a natural and unavoidable part of forest regeneration.
