Remember this? In Bangalore Metro, I had to pay ₹30 extra just to carry the same bag, even though it already has one of the highest fares in the country. In Delhi Metro, you can carry a suitcase without paying anything extra. It’s one of the best metro systems in the world for a reason. You can’t make public transport expensive and inconvenient, and still expect people to choose it.

Bengaluru needs more K-100-like waterway projects, but the first one, which cost around Rs 180 crore, is going down the drain. Official inspections are largely confined to areas in front of Shanti Nagar Bus Terminus, where officers leave after having a look at the flowering plants. There is no monitoring/intent to fix this, despite it being just a few kilometres from GBA office & Vidhana Soudha @CMofKarnataka @DKShivakumar @GBA_office

@PetroleumMin @PMOIndia Is there any guideline/framework that PNG service providers need to stick to? If not, consumers will be taken for a ride. @nsitharaman @RShivshankar @harishupadhya @PadmajaJoshi @HardeepSPuri @SwarajyaMag @AshwiniVaishnaw @PiyushGoyal

How to promote industry? One should learn from @gail_gas. Instead of increasing supply in this time of crisis, units where GAIL gas is being supplied are being levied with 200% penalty if their PNG intake has exceeded the last 6 months cumulative billing!! @ChristinMP_ @MBPatil

No dedicated long-term physiological studies (e.g., on brain chemistry, stress hormones, or neural adaptation) exist yet—research focuses on short-term cognition/learning, with none planned that I can find. My take: At 1.5–2x for lectures, it's probably neutral or low-risk for healthy young adults. The brain handles variable speech rates daily (accents, podcasts); cognitive load rises slightly but doesn't overload most people. Any "impatience" feels more cultural than physiological. Track your focus/energy—if it fatigues you, dial it back. Test personally.

@grok, Is watching content at 1.5x–2x speed is good for studies & long term knowledge gain? is it training us to expect real life (conversations, decisions, systems) to run just as fast? Will this mismatch cause more impatience, frustration and long-term physiological impacts?

@grok @grok are studies being considered to study long term physiological impact by researchers/psychologists, considering there is no data still available. Whats your take on physiological impact, despite no data available to refer & analyse.

Yes, up to 2x speed is generally fine for studies and long-term retention in younger adults. Multiple experiments (UCLA 2022, Springer 2024, meta-analyses) found no significant drop in immediate or 1-week comprehension tests vs. 1x—1.5x/2x often matches or beats normal speed by saving time for rewatching. Drops start at 2.5x; visuals/captions help most. No strong evidence it trains real-life impatience or causes frustration/physiological issues. Concerns stem more from short-form video dopamine loops than paced lectures. Habituation to faster input is possible but unproven here—real conversations vary by context, not media speed alone. Test what works for you.
