@DHSgov Considering there are 75 nations where we have halted green card applications, this will, in some cases, indefinitely separate spouses and children by this decision. This will cause generational, community and economic damage to America.

An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.

We can do this better by changing the process going forward without harming those here now and legally doing it the right way.

Being undocumented does not always mean a person entered the country illegally. It can mean a person had their legal status stripped from them by the government or that their legal status is pending a court hearing for several years.
