@ChatGPTapp Please allow us to minimise the answer to a prompt, or allows sub-threads. When I ask a broad question, I often have to ask multiple sub-questions to understand the original response. But scrolling gets quite difficult after 2-3 sub-questions.

@OfficialLoganK @googlecloud Ideally it should just happen automatically at such low billings. Or at least some way to load credits or something to quickly unblock. You know that developers hate communicating. At least it was a short google form, if it would have been an email… well, let’s not go there.

@googlecloud Is it a horrible experience interacting with your support. Also, your platform doesn't make it easy to do many simple things on our own, e.g. upgrading Google AI Studio rate limits to Tier 2. I have to wait 30 days, or hit $250 billing.

@googlecloud Even the response at the end of the quota increase form shows the attitude of GCP. "We will follow up IF you rate limit increase is approved." And if not... 🤷

@googlecloud It's a catch 22. I can't get to $250 usage because I've hit the rate limit. I can't increase the rate limit because I haven't hit $250 usage. I spent 25 minutes on the worst support chat I've had in years, then I found the quota increase link myself and I'm hoping for a result 🤞

I'm starting a campaign to bring South Bangalore's parks to their glory and I need your support. For the uninitiated, until a month ago all BBMP parks were officially* supposed to be open from 5 am to 10 pm. Then, the newly formed Bengaluru South City Corporation changed the timings for parks under its jurisdiction to 5 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 8 pm. This is a disaster. Literally one step forward and two steps backwards. I am sick and tired of living in this city without having any say in how it functions. We cannot constantly be taken for granted. Why should you care even if you don't live in South Bangalore? If people don't speak out against this, it is only a matter of time that all corporations make moves to limit the timings again. This is what I'm going to do - Begin a letter campaign. Write a letter to two people: the GBA commissioner (@GBAChiefComm) and, the Bengaluru South commissioner. Let them know that there is demand. Until now, it is only the uncles who are a noisy minority and get the rules changed to their whims. But not anymore. We need people to speak up. 100s of letters to them is bound to get attention. I am sharing the letter that I'm sending below, along with guidance at the bottom of how you can join this letter campaign. -- To, SRI MAHESHWAR RAO, CHIEF COMMISSIONER - GBA Shri Ramesh K.N, IAS, Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner Subject - Park timings in South Bengaluru and the rest of the city Dear commissioners, Last month in December, the newly formed Bengaluru South Corporation reverted something that most residents loved. Public parks being open during the day until late evening. The timings, which were 5 am to 10 pm, were revised to 5 am to 11 am in the morning and 4 pm to 8 pm in the evenings. I have some questions for you, and some requests. In each of these situations, please tell me what must a citizen do. - Software engineer, works from 9 am to 6 pm. Gets back home at 7 pm. Gets done with housework at 8 pm. Needs a quiet stroll in the park. - Couple with young kids. Want to enjoy the amazing Bengaluru weather on a weekend with kids. It’s 11 am on a Sunday morning. Parks are closed. - Househelp. Works a morning shift till 11 am and afternoon shift from 2 pm. Stays 10 km away from work. Needs to wait 2 hours somewhere. Empty park opposite the apartments she works at is closed. - Office employee. Likes a post-lunch walk to help with thinking. 2 pm on a Wednesday, empty park opp. office. Can’t visit because it's closed. - Uber driver. Works an 8 am to 8 pm shift. Takes 30 minutes off during the afternoon. Wants some quiet time after lunch. Parks his car opposite a beautiful park and sits in the car. Can’t sit in the park. It’s closed. - College students. Going on a first date. Don’t have money. Beautiful park 100m from where they stay. But it’s 8 pm and they will have to meet at a cafe and spend ₹500 at a cafe instead. The examples above are real examples of real tax-paying citizens who face the brunt of not having open access to their open spaces, everyday. With the new park timings, the parks in South Bengaluru are open for a mere 6 hours during the morning and 4 hours in the evening. These are timings suited to just one section of society — uncles who like their morning walk at 6 am, and evening walks before 8 pm (which is their bed time). However, I want to bring to your notice that Bengaluru does not just comprise this bland set of people. Bengaluru comprises colourful people who have different aspirations, different work timings, different preferences, different things they want to do at the park. Some want to walk, others want to sit and talk. Some want to use the open gyms, others want their children to play on the slides. ALL of these are valid reasons to go to the park, and it is the city corporations’ duty to support each of these in public parks. With this in mind, here are my (our) requests to both GBA and the Bengaluru South Corporation. They’re quite simple. Go back to the previous park timings of 5 am to 10 pm. Change the timings on the boards of the parks, otherwise guards are enforcing incorrect timings. Make sure these timings apply to all GBA parks, including lake parks. (IMAGINE shutting access to a pathway at a lake at 10 am. Who is making these rules?) Please remember, that public spaces have to be public. Otherwise they are mere showpieces. In closing, I want to share perspectives that people have shared online. These reflect the pain of the public not being allowed into their own spaces. Thank you, -- What can you do to help? 1. This is the doc link to the letter above, you can use print and use the same docs.google.com/document/d/1sm… 2. Send two letters by Speed Post (will cost max ₹100-150 Addresses: SRI MAHESHWAR RAO, CHIEF COMMISSIONER - GBA Hudson Circle, N.R.Square, Bengaluru, Karnataka-560002, Shri Ramesh K.N, IAS, Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner SOUTH CITY CORPORATION 9th Main Road, 9th Cross Road, 2nd Stage, Jayanagar, Bengaluru – 560011 3. Ask your friends to do this, RT, spread the word. I'm also creating a WA group where we can post pics of the letters and ensure we have enough strength. Link in the reply. * implementation was lax, and until people complained the guards did not comply. But that's a different problem.

@blueringtail Thanks for sharing this information. I will participate. Recently noticed this 11am closure again. I don’t understand the forces behind keeping the parks closed. Who wants them closed and why?

Last week, I posted about running a letter campaign to the GBA and Bengaluru South commissioners to revert park timings to 5 am to 10 pm. The campaign was in response to the Bengaluru South City Corporation moving parks to split hours of 5 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 8 pm. This got some media attention with @DeccanHerald writing about it. However, we are far from where we need to be. We have not sent enough letters. If people are in support, which I know people are based on how much frustration the closed parks cause to people, we need to speak out. I also want to address some common questions that are coming up in conversations. I'm not in South Bengaluru and yet my local park is not open during the afternoon times. What is happening? Officially, for BBMP parks all across Bangalore, the timings are 5 am to 10 pm. The only exception to this are parks in the limits of South Bengaluru Corporation, which changed the official timings last month. These are parks in areas like Koramangala, HSR Layout, JP Nagar, Jayanagar. THAT SAID, implementation of the 5 am to 10 pm timings are extremely lax. Guards are either not aware of it, or they are, but they don't care because BBMP is making it extremely difficult for citizens to complain. Right now, the campaign that I am running is about the rules in South Bengaluru, not because everything is good with the parks in other areas, but because we need to ensure that the rules are not rogue before we can talk about implementation. Once we get BBMP's ear and make them rollback the rules in South Bengaluru, we'll move our attention to implementation. We need to come together and speak as one voice to be able to do it. Once the rules are changed, how will we ensure implementation? The first thing to do after the rules are changed is to ensure that the park timings are officially updated on all the notice boards at the park entrances. In Indiranagar, most parks are fortunately following the new timings and are open all day. Yet, the board timings are not updated. Until the timings are updated there, we will be vulnerable. We will also have to talk to the commissioners and ensure that there is *one* person in each corporation within BBMP who we can complain to for guards not adhering to the timings. Right now, you have no idea how many emails, calls and messages I've sent to extreme frustration. What if the letters are not read? Maybe some clerk will throw them into the bin. As funny as it may sound, the goal of the letters is not to have them read. Those who had to read it, would already have read it via the reddit post or the twitter post (both of which went semi-viral). The goal of sending these letters is two-fold: 1) Show BBMP/GBA that there is a lot of demand for this and that we are not okay with the new timings. 2) To all come together so that we can first change the rules, and then become a citizens' group that can come together to enforce implementation. As individuals, we are nothing. As a group, we have power. Once there are enough letters sent, I will try my best to tap into sources that I know can get us in touch with the commissioner personally, and get him to the table to talk about this. Why letters? Why not emails? Less friction, more people sending emails. Emails can be automated. And they can be sent from anywhere in the world. My goal with the letter campaign is to show that there are real, local people who want this. People who are willing to take the pain to get off their asses in the middle of the day, print a letter, buy envelopes, put the addresses, and go to a post office to post letters. The effort is intentional. We need to put in the effort. (I have been sending emails since the last 365 days for BBMP to implement its own rules and it is equally depressing and frustrating.) I like the initiative, but I think we should change point x, y, or z from the letter. Please do it! I want to emphasise again that the contents of the letter are up to the people. Just make sure you send those letters out. -- Okay, so for those who missed it, what needs to be done? Here is a letter template to send to the GBA commissioner and the Bengaluru South City Commissioner: docs.google.com/document/d/1sm… Their addresses: SRI MAHESHWAR RAO, CHIEF COMMISSIONER - GBA GBA - Greater Bengaluru Authority Hudson Circle, N.R.Square, Bengaluru, Karnataka-560002 Shri Ramesh K.N, IAS, Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner SOUTH CITY CORPORATION 9th Main Road, 9th Cross Road, 2nd Stage, Jayanagar, Bengaluru – 560011 We need to send one letter each to both of them. It will cost ₹90 by Speed Post. Tomorrow is a Saturday. The post office will be open from 8 am to 1 pm (or 1:30 pm) . Please do it. We're counting on you. Once you do this, if you're okay with it, please share a pic of the letters being posted to a WA group that I've created. We need to know how many people are participating. The pics will also help in creating more awareness as the campaign moves forward. WA group invite link is in the replies.

Arrested in response to a frivolous complaint by a client!! Read what is in the article... arrested for a dispute of a small sum. Making contractual disputes or economic offenses into criminal complaints this easily kills businesses. This is something that needs a serious relook. Contractual disputes or EOW complaints cannot lead to arrest at the whims and fancies of the investigating team. This action can be challenged but the damage is done! The start up has closed based on the LinkedIn post by the founder a day ago! moneycontrol.com/news/trends/de…

@jindalrajesh @IndiGo6E I contacted customer care today and apparently it’s down. They have said “2 weeks” for it to be back up. But it’s quite disappointing that instead of informing on the website (it’s been down for 1+ month), they just leave customers confused like this. Very un-indigo behaviour.
