Ma vie n’est qu’un instant, une heure passagère… (sainte Thérèse de Lisieux)

Young men, it is completely normal and natural to want a wife who has never slept with other men. Don’t let them convince you it isn’t.

@M_P_Hazell @CatholicSmark I would like to see a more definitive solution BXVI felt constrained by convention. The Curia refused to work on an apostolic constitution so he went with SP which was much easier to change in one day versus an AC (even if amendable etc.)

I think teachers should be paid less, actually

Continuing his catechetical series on Vatican II, Pope Leo XIV reflecting on the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen gentium, and the divinely instituted hierarchical nature of the Church, says: “In our ongoing catechesis on the Second Vatican Council, today we reflect on the teachings of the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium concerning the hierarchical structure of the Church. In this regard, it is helpful to bear in mind that the Church is not something we invented, but is a divine institution established by Jesus himself. Christ appointed the apostles, placing Peter at their head, and sent them out to continue his salvific mission until his return in glory. To perpetuate this same mission, ministers were invested with sacred power to be the successors of the Apostles as Bishops, in whose ministry priests and deacons likewise participate through the Sacrament of Holy Orders. Sharing in the ministry of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, they are consecrated to serve the faithful, build up the Church and ensure the fruitful transmission of the faith. Let us therefore ask the Lord to continue to bless his Church with shepherds after His own heart.”

This could be big news. Hard to read this as anything other than papal support for greater freedom for celebration of the TLM, though it’s frustratingly short on details.

“No, Air Canada knows better." Federal Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon said it wasn’t acceptable for Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau to release a video statement, where he expressed his condolences to those affected by the crash, entirely in English. "They have a responsibility to communicate with the public and their stakeholders in both official languages,” MacKinnon told reporters in Ottawa. Nikita Bier says Creator Payouts will now be affected by the user’s location. But told me personally I wouldn’t get paid at all: “We won’t send you money overseas.” Why is a regular user being targeted like this? I just think this change raises many issues: - What about US citizens living abroad? (many are full time X creators) - What about legitimate international creators? - Users from countries with little user base? (Vatican, 800 people; Andorra, 80k, etc.) - International full time X creators? Why should an account like mine not be paid at all while delivering over 100M impressions a month? Because the Head of Product doesn’t like me? I think @elonmusk should look into this. There are smarter ways to deal with ‘foreign interference’ from 3rd world countries. I was suspended within minutes of respectfully commenting about Nikita, then unbanned by Elon Musk himself. Hope it doesn’t happen again. Just my opinion, respectfully.

I’ve said this to death already but I have nothing against the TLM and I personally don’t agree with restrictions on it. My concern is with what many have done with the TLM (a subculture). While I disagreed with Pope Francis restricting it, I didn’t disagree with his reasons. In the end, it’s about unity in the church and unity among our people. That principal is core and central to Catholicism, since 33AD, it isn’t trivial. If what we today call the extraordinary form (TLM) ever became the ordinary form and people did with the Novus Ordo what they are doing with the TLM, I would be saying the exact same thing. It’s not about a Liturgy for me it’s about unity in the Church

Most people can't visualize their cities differently because they lack the tools. Courtyard Composer changes that. I've been using it all week. And I love how @UrbanCourtyard has been leading this conversation on Courtyard Urbanism, family-friendly cities, and New Aesthetics for American cities. @treasury_space built a tool that takes five minutes to learn—you prompt what you want to see, iterate on the design, and suddenly you're rendering courtyards in any city context. Then you share it and start conversations about what's possible. The tool itself isn't revolutionary. Rendering tech exists. What matters is who gets to use it. Urban design used to require: • Hiring an architect • Waiting weeks for renderings • And hoping stakeholders could interpret 2D plans Now anyone interested in how cities work can sketch ideas and see them in 3D instantly. • An urban design student can test theories without expensive software • A developer can explore options before committing to architectural fees • A neighborhood advocate can show their city council what a courtyard could do for their street. The shift isn't about better technology. Design expertise no longer gatekeeps the conversation about what cities could become. You don't need credentials to imagine better public spaces. You just need to care about where you live and a tool that translates ideas into something everyone can see and discuss. Every visualization becomes a conversation starter. Every render is a proposal for what our streets could be. Start HERE: composer.courtyardurbanist.com The hardest part? Deciding which city to visualize first. Try it—prompt a courtyard in your city and share what you create. I'd like to see what you come up with. --- 📌 Join the movement at courtyardurbanist.com

Why doesn't Queens (in NY) have a possessive apostrophe?

The latest @davidshor data has prompted an unapologetic defense from me of the window seat, a lifelong preference it turns out is lower-class coded.
