TBH!! We EV user’s are not happy with E20 or E85. Market is big in India, each Powertrain has its own place in it. It’s just that EV’s will high share in future due to deficiencies of other powertrains. Authorities can go after anything but at present EV’s make sense, so sharing information regards to it. Problem is EV’s are not just cost effective, it helps in other ways too: - Lower maintenance - Environment friendly - Self reliant India - Very calm & peppy drive compared to ICE - Automatic cars right from base model

Setting up a true 180kW charger is easier said than done in India. For 180kW+ connections, you need High Tension (HT) wire approvals & sanctions — and that process is lengthy, bureaucratic, and full of hurdles. That’s exactly why most CPOs are opting for 150-160kW chargers these days with mix of (90+60kw setup with 4 bays) Approvals for 150kW and below are significantly faster, involve fewer clearances, and don’t require HT wire approvals. Faster deployment = quicker revenue. @subikash_r 180KW+ DC FC should be the standard going forward for public charging, could get 80-90 even if 2 cars are sharing one, that's more than enough for a quick topup

Warranty is for battery life not for the accidental damage to battery!! Those are two different things!! Most Dealers & Insurance agents try to skip most of the above mentioned add ins to provide lower quote and fool the EV insurance customers, hence the post for maximum awareness!!

@adiag91 Yup, 60kw will be the base because thoss can be easily setup with commercial connections at Hotels, Reataurants too. However things get tough to install when calaocify goes above 80+ kW

@tushv24 Absolutely boss. Most tier 3 will do well with 60kw. Anything above that is for highway top ups only. There are load and wiring issues with these already!

Going for E85 Maruti Wagon R @ 7.4 lakhs don’t make sense at all, I hope people ignore it fully. People are already moving away from Petrol due to high running cost. ❌ maintenance costs for E85 is not fully known ❓ The cost of running an E85 is high compared to E20 Petrol because mileage drop in E85 is high ❌

150kw setups are more than enough now because chargers are not utilised enough to gain meaningful profits from the business. ROI is still more than 3-4 years for bigger setups. Charger installations have to be sustainable for private players. Government is literally doing Zero efforts for Private CPO’s.

@JayPrashanth there will be some impact, but alternative business model is already taking shape. Previously, after two or three years, people might get their vehicles serviced elsewhere; however, with these EVs, they will have to stay with the dealer to avail of the LTW..
