In commemoration of the 78th United Nations Peacekeepers Day, Lieutenant General Vipul Shinghal, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (IS&T), laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, paying tribute to the #Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice while serving in United Nations peacekeeping missions. On the occasion, Dag Hammarskjöld Medals were awarded posthumously to Lance Havildar Harbhajan Singh and Naib Subedar Sujit Kumar Pradhan in honour of their exemplary courage, dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty. Marking the occasion, the #IndianArmy also hosted a dialogue on “Future of UN Global Peacekeeping” at Manekshaw Centre, attended by Mr Stefan Priesner, Amb Ruchira Kamboj, Lieutenant General Satish Nambiar (Retd) and other senior military dignitaries, reaffirming India’s steadfast commitment towards global peace and security. @UN @UNPeacekeeping @CUNPKIndia

Training Together, Growing Stronger. Exercise #PRAGATI 2026 continues in full swing at Umroi, Meghalaya, as troops from 12 Friendly Foreign Countries train together in counter-terrorism operations across semi-mountainous and jungle terrain. The ongoing joint drills, tactical exercises and mission-oriented training are enhancing interoperability, operational synergy and mutual trust amongst participating nations. Conducted in the spirit of partnership, equality and shared purpose, the exercise provides a valuable platform for professional exchange, exchange of best practices and strengthening military-to-military ties in an increasingly complex security environment. Indian Army and M/s Air India Ltd signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in the presence of #GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS, towards further strengthening welfare initiatives for the Army fraternity. Built on the three pillars of Employment, Empowerment and Environment, the partnership aims to create lifelong employment avenues for Veer Naris and their wards, support vocational training infrastructure in ASHA Schools and promote environment-friendly mobility solutions at Army Hospitals. Under the initiative, 20 vacancies for Veer Naris and 40 vacancies for their wards will be provided across seven airports. #GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS, inaugurated a 3 Tesla MRI facility at Army Hospital (R&R), enhancing advanced diagnostic capabilities in neurology, oncology, cardiology, musculoskeletal imaging and trauma care. The #COAS then paid heartfelt tributes to the families of Organ Donors, whose selfless decision in moments of personal grief gave the priceless gift of life to patients. On the occasion, Dr Subhash Gupta, a renowned Hepato-biliary and Liver Transplant surgeon was awarded with COAS Commendation Card for his contribution to the success of the organ transplant program in the Armed Forces. Emphasising the spirit of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’, the #COAS encouraged Armed Forces personnel, veterans and civilians to pledge for organ donation. "𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱." A wild forest fire in the hills of #Kasauli on 26 May threatened the heritage precincts of Kasauli Cantonment. Under the close supervision and proactive guidance of Commander, #VictoryForCertain Bde, a swift and synergised firefighting response was launched, involving troops of the #VictoryForCertain Bde, Air Force Station Kasauli, Cantonment Board Kasauli and Civil Fire Tenders. For over 16 hours, ground columns battled the flames along Gilbert Trail, Shourya Marg and adjoining areas, preventing further spread and safeguarding critical heritage zones. The air effort by #IndianAirForce Mi-17 helicopters, through effective Bambi Bucket sorties, proved decisive in containing the blaze. All personnel and equipment are safe. No loss of civilian or combatant life has been reported. A memorial honouring Sepoy Kamal Ram, Victoria Cross awardee of the Indian Army, was inaugurated at Cassino, Italy by Ambassador Vani Rao and Mayor of Cassino, Dr Enzo Salera. The memorial, gifted by India’s Ministry of Defence, is a tribute to Sepoy Kamal Ram’s extraordinary bravery during World War II. Engineer Task Force of @adgpi, who arrived in Sri Lanka on 03 Dec, in the wake of #CycloneDitwah as part of #OperationSagarBandhu, departed for India in an @IAF_MCC aircraft yesterday (25), after successful completion of re-construction efforts lasting nearly six months. During the period, the Engineer Task Force carried out extensive recce of damaged bridge sites, completed seven bridges at various locations in 🇱🇰, and provided engineering advice to Road Development Authority 🇱🇰. Gulmarg Gandola Rescue Operation All 310 stranded tourists have been safely evacuated from the cable cars in a swift, coordinated joint rescue operation carried out by #IndianArmy, #JammuKashmirPolice, SDRF and Civil Administration at #GulmargGondola. Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, #VCOAS, visited #ShatrujeetBrigade to review the formation’s preparedness, mission readiness and capability enhancement initiatives. Large Scale Rescue Operations at Gulmarg Gandola by Trained Teams in Progress. India–Russia Defence Cooperation 🇮🇳🤝🇷🇺 The 5th Sub Working Group (Land) meeting under the India–Russia Inter Governmental Commission (IRIGC) on Military & Military Technical Cooperation concluded successfully, marking another significant milestone in strengthening defence ties between the Indian Army and the Russian Land Forces. Both sides held productive deliberations aimed at enhancing mutual learning, operational synergy and bilateral military capabilities, further reinforcing the longstanding India–Russia defence partnership. It is reiterated that the individuals seen in the video, namely Chandu Chavan, Harendra Yadav and P Narender, were dismissed from service on grounds of indiscipline and unsoldierly conduct. The fourth individual, Shankar Singh Gujjar, is a deserter and disciplinary proceedings are undergoing against him in both military and civil courts. These individuals are deliberately spreading fake, malicious and misleading narratives on social media to divert attention from their own misconduct and dismissal from service.
