@canj_ca @EricLDaugh Yes, likely NYC, Montclair, and South Orange. They have no idea how bad Newark jails are. Start arresting them and locking them up pending arraignment.

@ScientistOnHold Rats desert a sinking ship. These supposedly talented, hard-working people could stay and help fix their country. But they don't. They come here and then work to make the US just like where they came from.

“You don’t flee the third world to turn America into the country you left behind” sounds catchy, but it ignores reality. Countries struggle because of corruption, dictatorship, war, and lack of opportunity NOT because talented people were born there. Many F1 students and NIW applicants came to the U.S. legally, earned advanced degrees, conducted research, worked in hospitals and laboratories, developed technologies, published scientific discoveries, and contributed directly to the American economy and innovation. These are often highly skilled individuals who succeeded despite growing up with fewer resources and obstacles many Americans never had to face. Talent is distributed globally. Opportunity is not. It is disappointing to see a Representative make a statement that broadly generalizes millions of people and their experiences. America became strong by attracting ambitious people from around the world and rewarding merit, hard work, and innovation NOT by assuming birthplace determines human value. #ScientistsInLimbo

The narrative that every skilled immigrant is here to “replace” Americans ignores reality. Many of the same immigrants being targeted today are teaching at universities, mentoring students, advancing medical research, building startups, creating jobs, filing patents, strengthening American companies, and helping the U.S. remain globally competitive in science, engineering, medicine, and technology. America did not become a world leader by isolating itself from global talent. It became stronger by attracting ambitious people willing to contribute. The #USCISpause is now putting many of those highly skilled legal immigrants into limbo despite years of following every rule. @SecRubio @USCISJoe @SecMullinDHS @SenGaryPeters @RandPaul #LiftTheHold
Neda S@NedaSa_

The people you call “replacements” are often the same people teaching American students, training researchers, building startups, creating jobs, and sharing knowledge that helps the U.S. stay ahead! This has never been a one-way process. America benefited from attracting global talent, and many Americans benefited from working with them too. Don’t be blindsided into thinking every skilled immigrant is here to replace someone. Many are here to build, teach, innovate, and contribute.

@AndyKimNJ Andy has "Main Character Syndrome". He is the star of his own little morality play. Does nothing in the senate, except managing to make himself seem useful when compared to Corey Booker. That's a low bar.

I choose to help people, all of us. I want Americans to voice their outrage as we did after the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Let’s work to stop this legislative giveaway to ICE in the coming weeks. The lawlessness that continues must end. END

My heart broke to see Americans fighting Americans in our streets yesterday. As I saw ICE agents tackling civilians and firing pepper balls into the crowd, I was overwhelmed by how broken we’ve become. We cannot normalize this violence. Here’s what happened at Delaney Hall: THREAD

@AndyKimNJ You and Becky Sherril caused it all! Don't act like you didn't instigate this little uprising. Stay out of the way of Federal Agents doing their lawful job. You got your "tear gas merit badge", so now you can stay home and out of the way. Bozo.

@toddstarnes We need a strong Republican challenger for Thune. His district is a totally safe Republican seat, so whomever it is, they just need to defeat Thune in a primary and then roll to victory in the general. Spend whatever it takes.

Republican voters are ready to remove EVERY Republican senator in office because of their refusal to stand up to John Thune. Senate Republicans are complicit. Not a single Republican senator has called for Thune to be removed from power. Not a one.

@CodyC64 @SenatorCantwell @tedcruz Get gambling out of sports. Require all college athletes to maintain at least a "C" average each semester or they have to drop off the team. Limit the dollar amount that each college can use to fund their sports to a percentage of their annual revenue (not endowment). Like 10%.

As a senior member of the President’s Roundtable on Fixing College Sports, which has been working with many Senators, House Members, and other key stakeholders, we are encouraged that release of comprehensive legislation could be imminent. Senators @SenatorCantwell and @tedcruz should be greatly applauded for their bipartisan effort in working to solve a very complex and existential set of problems. We look forward to continued work in pushing this across the finish line and preserving a great American treasure! 🇺🇸

THIS IS HORIFFIC Shocking French child abuse scandal: Criminal investigations now span 114 Paris nurseries and schools after children as young as three were allegedly raped, beaten, starved and locked in rooms by staff paid to protect them. The cases cover 84 nursery schools, around 20 primary schools and 10 crèches across all 20 arrondissements of the capital. At Paul-Dubois nursery alone, one youth worker faces 15 formal complaints. At Saint-Dominique nursery, 16 staff members (aged 18-68) were arrested in coordinated raids on 20 May. Paris City Hall has suspended 78 municipal employees, 31 of them on suspicion of sexual violence. At least one monitor is already in pre-trial detention. Paris chief prosecutor Laure Beccuau confirmed three formal judicial investigations have been opened. Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire has apologised and announced a €15.8 million emergency reform package with stricter vetting and inspections.

The mere possibility that hundreds of thousands of immigrants living in the United States will be required to leave their families, homes, and jobs behind for months or more to adjust their immigration status outside the country is as unwise and it is unacceptable.  America leads when we have dedicated people—no matter where they're from—working to save lives, create new technologies, and more. So, whose needs does this policy change serve?
USCIS@USCIS

USCIS is applying long-standing law and prior court decisions to require certain aliens with temporary visas who decide they want to permanently reside in the U.S. to return to their home countries to apply for permanent visas through the @StateDept. We're returning to the original intent of the law to ensure aliens navigate our nation’s immigration system properly. Here’s what you should know: uscis.gov/newsroom/news-…

@RepGraceMeng Well, the South Africans are the fastest assimilating group there is. They already speak English. Respect the law. Are mostly Christians. Very strong work ethic, when they are not being harassed and murdered. Want to become "American". Not poor and will not be a burden on us. OK?

This Administration has shut down visa processing from 75 countries. Abandoned our Afghan allies who risked their lives for America’s safety. Shut down pathways for legal refugees who were already vetted to come here and start their lives. But they’re rolling out the red carpet for another 17,500 Afrikaaners? Has anyone from the Administration explained why they get to skip the line? Why are we prioritizing one ethnic group?

Plenty of time to get out and vote for Senator @JohnCornyn and @ChipRoy. Get out and save Texas' GOP Senate seniority while rewarding a great conservative in Senator Cornyn.
Hugh Hewitt@hughhewitt

Texas GOP voters: Vote for Senator @JohnCornyn and for @chiproytx for AG today. Both are strong conservatives who will win in November. Don’t play with fire and blow your state’s seniority in the Senate. Don’t send the second string to AG’s office. Cornyn and Roy!
