Note: My wife and I were Catholic. I was an altar boy for 8 years. And there is no doubt in our minds that something is radically wrong/different at the Vatican. With Pope Leo XIV. I’m done trying to justify their decisions. What we’re looking at doesn’t feel like a misstep or a bad phase. It feels like something else has been taken over. Like the papacy… the papacy… has been hollowed out and turned into something else entirely. I’m sick of pretending that’s not happening. And I’m not alone. The word being used… the word people are whispering and then saying louder EVERY WEEK… is “fake.” Not fake, like a conspiracy theory meme. Fake like a gut reaction. Fake, like looking at something that should be unmistakable, realizing you don’t recognize it anymore. That’s the problem. And it starts with LEGITIMACY. This guy is talking about what happened in MA His take is that -regular people were already moving out due to an unrelenting flow of taxes -there was such a massive move out that lawmakers got worried -They mistakenly thought that millionaires were locked into the state -created a millionaires tax out of panic because they were losing so much money they didn’t think they could fill the hole -then saw an even larger loss of money as the millionaires moved away $14 billion left in a relatively short time $4 billion just from the millionaire class WA state has similar trends - I hear every day from regular people that they are leaving for idaho, utah, arizona, montana. -They are leaving because they can’t afford property taxes, gas taxes are killing them, their car tabs are 20-30X the $30 limit, groceries are through the roof expensive (remember the CCA tax that makes anything shipped on a truck more expensive in WA State?) and heating costs have skyrocketed Now we have a millionaires tax that no one believes will be just a millionaires tax and we are going to get hit with capital flight like this state has never seen. Its math. Just because you want the rules of economics to not apply in WA state doesn’t mean reality will grant your wish. Maybe it is time for a change in Olympia?
