OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL Young Pillars College 16th May, 2026 It has come to our attention with deep concern that one of our students, Hengunsei Khongsai, has reportedly been abducted and held hostage allegedly by SDSA and NSCN (IM). The entire institution stands profoundly disturbed and anxious for his safety, well-being, and immediate release. Hengunsei Khongsai, a young student with dreams and responsibilities far beyond his age, recently lost his father and became the sole breadwinner of his grieving family. Despite enduring immense hardship, he continued striving tirelessly to support his loved ones while pursuing his education with determination and courage. His situation becomes even more heartbreaking considering that he also lives with a physical disability. The cruel act of kidnapping a young student struggling to sustain his family and education is deeply inhumane and condemnable. No innocent civilian, especially a student carrying the burden of an entire household, should ever be subjected to fear, violence, or captivity. Young Pillars College fervently appeals to the concerned groups and all responsible authorities to ensure his safe and immediate release along with all other hostages. We also call upon every peace-loving and right-thinking individual to reject violence and embrace dialogue, compassion, and humanity as the only path toward lasting peace and coexistence. We are deeply shocked and disturbed by the statement made by #Ajoy_Raphung claiming that 11 Kuki hostages have been killed and asking the Kuki people to collect their dead bodies. We strongly urge the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and all concerned security agencies to immediately investigate this matter without delay and verify the condition and whereabouts of the missing Kuki hostages.
