@Mciza6 @sciencegirl The post read rainwater and snow run-off, which is totally different from what you're insinuating here. Who gave him a permit to build a dam that blocks stream waterways?

@sciencegirl The part some people will miss is that he wasn't just catching rain in a barrel. He built dams that blocked streams flowing into the city's water supply. He went to jail for 30 days, not years. And he had already ignored a court order before that.

A man in Oregon was sentenced to jail after authorities said he collected large amounts of rainwater on his property. Gary Harrington, a 64-year-old from Eagle Point, Oregon, became widely known after constructing reservoirs that stored close to 13 million gallons of rainwater and snow runoff. Harrington believed the water collected on his land was his to keep, but Oregon water laws classify water as a public resource that must remain available to rivers, groundwater systems, wildlife, and downstream communities. Officials said Harrington ignored repeated warnings and continued maintaining the reservoirs without proper permits. The legal battle eventually resulted in fines and a short jail sentence, turning the case into a major example in the debate over private land rights and state-controlled water management. Rainwater harvesting laws differ greatly across the United States. Some states encourage residents to collect limited amounts of rainwater as a conservation measure, while others tightly regulate the practice because of ongoing drought concerns and existing water rights systems. In states such as Colorado and Utah, restrictions have historically included low collection limits and registration requirements for larger storage systems. Supporters say rainwater harvesting can reduce pressure on public water infrastructure and improve sustainability. Regulators argue that removing too much water from the natural cycle can affect ecosystems, streams, and communities that depend on shared water supplies

My mother in law came to stay after her husband passed. We didn’t plan it. Offered a few weeks. It became months. She was lost. Untethered. I tried to be patient. My husband tried. But honestly it was hard. Three months of someone grieving in your house. Taking up space. Taking up oxygen. I’m not a saint. I got frustrated. One night I went to my husband and said I don’t know how long we can do this. He was quiet. Then he said how long did your parents let you stay when you needed them.

2 years ago, I designed this home as a prototype for alternative modern living in Nigeria. Conceptual location📍: Enugu, Nigeria. The idea was simple: Could a home in a hot climate feel cooler, calmer, brighter, and more connected to nature without depending heavily on AC? Here are 6 design principles explored in the project: 🧵

@Presh_Adah @karungimcknight @ZackPHP Let say you're training legs, starting with squats or any other exercise that can send blood to the legs muscles. After the first two sets, which are warm-up, any other leg exercise shouldn't exceed 3 sets. Training is just to stimulate or break down muscles for growth.

@karungimcknight @Presh_Adah @ZackPHP How do you progress overload to 6 sets. This is what most professional builders use. 50% of your working set as a warm-up. Another 75% for warm-up and your working sets. Anything above 3 sets of these are junk volume. I mostly do 2 working sets after warming the target muscle

@karungimcknight @Presh_Adah @ZackPHP You're wasting your time and accumulating fatigue, which doesn't build any muscles by doing 6 sets. Maximum of 3. Find out, please.

@crystal_kizor In general, select materials during construction that have low-heat absorption. Deciding on the types and colours for roof sheets, ceilings, paints, doors/windows, and lighting will massively improve the natural temperature surrounding of the place.

@crystal_kizor Sandcrete blocks trap heat, and by increasing the thickness, you create more heat. Reason hollow blocks were invented to reduce heat transfer.

2. Large openings The home was designed with floor to ceiling glass doors that open up fully for natural airflow. More air movement. Less trapped heat. A lighter indoor experience.

Selling cement is such a humbling business. My father owns a cement shop, and one of his regular prayer points was: “God abeg, send customers. Make this thing no spoil for my hand.” 😂 One day, a distributor sent 250 bags of cement to him. As usual, it was a "take now, pay after selling" arrangement. But this batch stayed in the shop for too long. He managed to sell about 100 bags, but the remaining 150 just sat there like nobody wanted cement again. Then one day, he opened the shop and discovered the cement had started caking, even though it wasn’t placed directly on the ground. He was heartbroken. But instead of letting it waste, he bought truckloads of sand and hired workers to mold blocks with everything left. In fact, the entire shop was cleared just to avoid loss. Later, the distributor called for payment, and my dad had to withdraw money from his other business to settle the debt. After that experience, he said he was done selling cement. He was just waiting for his shop rent to expire so he could shut everything down. Then something unexpected happened. During that same period, one of his old friends came to our house, saw the blocks outside, and asked if my dad wanted to sell them. My dad said yes and just like that, he sold everything. Then the man asked if there was still cement in the shop. My father instantly said a quick: *“Yes” 😂😂😂 That “yes” was very fast for someone who had locked his shop for over two weeks. To my surprise, that night my dad didn’t let the cement distributor rest. He kept calling and shouting on the phone, begging him to make sure the truck arrived at his shop the next morning 😂😂 Anybody who says running a business is easy is lying. Have you ever abandoned a business in a slow season, and later resumed it when opportunity showed up?

@shredwithQpid There's only fat and muscle tissue. One can't build big muscle mass without enhancement enhancement - meaning at a certain size naturally, it's fat tissue accumulation.

If you wanna gain weight (not fat) on a budget focus on 3 things: 1. Eat in a calorie surplus consistently 2. Prioritize protein daily 3. Train your glutes and every muscle group with progressive overload You don’t need expensive supplements to gain healthy weight. A homemade mass gainer/protein mix with things like oats, groundnut, milk powder, soybeans, dates, tiger nuts, etc can genuinely help a lot on a budget. Also, don’t be scared of carbs. Rice, potatoes, yam, pasta and bread will help you add size when paired with penough protein and training. You can even make your own Greek yogurt. Healthy weight gain is basically: eat more + recover well + train consistently (at least 3/4 times a week)

@hotiiofficial @thrdsummerizer A muscle worked secondary in a compound movement hardly fatigue it but likely warm it. I used train arms separately and continued getting soreness because of a short recovery period until they were joined with back and chest separately before it stopped.

The Mechanical Engineering final year students of IMO State University were hosting a graduation party. At some point the generator developed fault. None of the students had a clue on how to fix it. They all had to start searching for an artisan to fix it. They eventually found someone that came and fixed it. The quality of the graduates in most of our state universities and in some federal universities are unemployable. A university where students have to sort their way out without learning anything meaningful. I call many of them, illiterate graduates.
