The decision to go to war is a monumental and grave one – one that should be made with the consent of Congress and a clear plan. It shouldn’t be taken lightly, but, unfortunately, we've seen Trump do just that. That's why I'll vote YES on @SenTimKaine's war powers resolution.

A lot of people are confused about the War Powers Act. It *does not* allow the president to make war without authorization from Congress at their personal whim. It allows for use of the military in consultation with Congress when we have a national emergency because America is under attack. Trump's war with Iran is plainly illegal and unconstitutional.

Democrats need to oppose this regime change war in Iran full stop. We can’t just raise points of process because Trump didn’t ask permission. That’s insanely insufficient. Truly so much to say about yesterday’s witness in DC for immigrant justice. What started out as a plan for 100-200 people ended as a historic event with 2,000 people of faith - worshipping and marching across from the seat of power to say that the Lord’s word is for JUSTICE.

Trump and Hegseth can’t even justify their $1.5 TRILLION defense budget ask—a staggering $500 BILLION INCREASE. Congress should flat-out reject it.
