#SPARSHFailsVeterans Day 110: OPEN LETTER TO SH RAJESH KUMAR SINGH, DEFENCE SECRETARY 🌟 🇮🇳 Sir, As a voice for some of 3.2 million trapped Ex-Servicemen pensioners, I humbly appeal for your urgent intervention in the SPARSH crisis. Launched on 24 Feb 25, our #SPARSHFailsVeterans campaign (31,362 views, 132 RTs) x.com/RajKuma3515260… fights for 70–80% JCOs/ORs, including widows, betrayed by a flawed system. With respect, the gravity of this issue demands your priority action. 📢 THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF SPARSH: - Flawed Data Migration: The Defence Accounts Department (DAD) transferred data using outdated legacy Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) from 1976–2016, ignoring 2017 ePPOs issued post-7th CPC. This created 50% blank/wrong data for 3.2 million pensioners. - Rushed Rollout: Without testing on a small group or stabilizing the system, DAD migrated data at “supersonic speed,” bypassing due diligence. - Burden on Veterans: Instead of updating data themselves—holding PPOs, Corr PPOs & LPC cum Data Sheets—PCDA Pensions forced this task on aged, less-educated, non-tech-savvy pensioners (70–80% JCOs/ORs in villages/small towns), majority unable to comply. - Silly Mistakes: Errors abound—names misspelled, ranks/QS wrong, DOBs as 01/01/3031, spouses marked dead/alive incorrectly, handicapped children’s details (physical/mental) swapped, disability/gallantry pensions omitted, and age-related revisions (80/85 years) ignored. - Grievance Fiasco: Once pensioners lodged complaints, PCDA (P) closed them without resolution, leaving issues unaddressed. - Indifference: Neither PCDA (P) nor Service HQs have assessed the onground reality or taken remedial steps, signaling a total systemic collapse. 💔 OUR STRUGGLE AND DISRESPECT: - Campaign Launch: #SPARSHFailsVeterans began 24 Feb 25, with a change.org petition, 5151+ signatures: c.org/ZNH8WhK5Vc seeking justice. - Outreach Efforts: Emails, PMOPG & CPGRAM complaints were sent to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi & RM @rajnathsingh, but CGDA intentionally misrouted them, closing cases without forwarding to their offices. - RTI Roadblocks: Filed RTIs faced evasive replies with CIC complaints pending mid-2026. - Media Spotlight: Moneycontrol - 15 Jul 25 moneycontrol.com/news/india/arm… and Indian Express - 27 Jul 25 indianexpress.com/article/cities… exposed the crisis, yet no action followed. - Open Letters Ignored: Emails & X posts to #CDS Gen Anil Chauhan, #COAS Gen Upendra Dwivedi, #CNS Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, #CAS Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, #CGDA Sh Vishvajit Sahay & TCS leaders (Mr K Krithivasan CEO, Mr Manoj Indulkar Operational Head Business India, Mr Tej Paul Bhatla Sr VP & Business Head Govt India) received no response. - Broken Promise: On Veterans Day 14 Jan 25, #CAS Air Chief Marshal AP Singh assured veterans at Manekshaw Auditorium, “We know the SPARSH problems & action is being taken… approach us, not public platforms” (Watch: t.co/m9FElr1BV2). Ten months later, silence persists. 😞 A FEELING OF BETRAYAL: We, who guarded India’s borders, feel disrespected. CGDA’s focus on covering blunders—e.g., awarding PCDA (P) for “excellence” despite failures—over remedial action deepens our plight. This is not the honor we earned. ✨ DEMAND FOR JUSTICE: - CAG Audit: Conduct an Efficiency-cum-Performance Audit to uncover the crisis’s full extent, enabling informed remedies. - Data Correction: Direct PCDA (P) to update blank/wrong data using their records, relieving ESM pensioners & overburdened Record Offices from this harassment. 📧 Email Sent: This Open letter is already emailed today (attached) 🙏 Sir, as Head of the Department of Defence, we look to you for resolution.
