🚨SECRET SERVICE SCOOP: New details about the agent who shot himself earlier today while accompanying Jill Biden to the Philly airport. The agent was apparently rushing and fumbling around after forgetting his cell phone in the SUV, sources told @RCPolitics. The agent was only one week on the job with the Jill Biden detail. He was in the SUV behind the one Biden was traveling in. He left to accompany Jill Biden through the airport, but soon realized he forgot his cell phone. The agent rushed back to get it, and his pistol fell out of the holster and was lying on the seat. He grabbed his pistol quickly and negligently fired it as he was trying to put it back in the holster. The agent shot his butt cheek. He went to the hospital where he is recovering and is expected to be released later today.

@ThomasRGreer @Erdayastronaut @rpuffinstuff2 There is no earth orbit that just "flies by the moon." To orbit a planet, you have to remain in its gravitational influence. To get to the moon, you leave Earth's gravitational influence, enter the moon's gravitational influence and use that to slingshot you back toward Earth.

Yes. Apollo 8 and 10 both orbited the moon. Both were rehearsals for a real lunar landing, which occurred on Apollo 11. But Artemis 2 won't be orbiting the moon. Instead, it will simply fly a high enough earth obit to fly by the moon. The mission won't be a dress rehearsal for a lunar landing.

I'm honestly SHOCKED at how the general public has NO IDEA Artemis II is taking humans out to the moon and will be the furthest humans have ever flown. Every non-space nerd I've talked to has no idea. WE GOTTA GET PEOPLE STOKED!!!! THESE FOUR HUMANS ARE FLYING TO THE MOON!!!

@EckhartAurelius @ENBrown I don't think kids should have a bunch of access to social media (parents fault) but there's no difference between YouTube videos and online gambling?

The Meta ruling is bad, no matter how much you dislike Meta or how much New Mexico tries to pretend its about "product design" It's an attempt to get around Section 230 (& 1A) protections, hold platforms liable for user speech, do universal age verification & end encrypted msg

I'm concerned about this verdict and the overall trend of treating speech platforms as addictive — and therefore dangerous — products. Also, the verdict diminishes the responsibility parents have to raise healthy kids. For example: "Kaley says she began using YouTube at age 6 and Instagram at age 9 and told the jury she was on social media 'all day long' as a child." Where were the parents?

That policy was in place for over 20 years at both Sam's Club and Costco until lowlifes started catching on that you could get the complete expected life out of an item you bought and then bring it back and get something new for basically free. There's a difference between bringing back a TV after 2, 3, 4 years because it broke (basically an awesome warranty) and 10 years of essentially free use of a product. People like you who refuse to see the difference is why the policy went away. Stores can't make money taking essentially a security deposit of the sale price of an item and then giving it back 10 years later when you've had enough of the item and want something better. High-trust societies get generous policies. Low-trust societies get their toiletries locked behind glass.

@ryknoll3 @L3MONTSLA @TrungTPhan The whole point of a satisfaction policy without a time frame, is to use it when you aren’t satisfied at any point. Do you think a company doesn’t know the risk? It’s obviously a risky tactic to rope in customers. That policy would’ve never been permanent regardless.

My parents had a 60 inch Vizio plasma (VM60P) that they bought when Sam’s had a no expiration date policy. They still had the original receipt reflecting that and got a refund about 10 years after their purchase. They’ve since updated their policy on electronics but they had a page at one point explaining that they’d grandfather their old policy with the old receipt.

The cost was because that's what the government told them they could charge for the flight, so the only way to differentiate from your competition was service and loyalty (generous frequent flyer mileage programs). Once deregulation came around, airlines began to compete on price, and the customer wanted the cheaper fares more than the perks that come with the expensive fares. That's starting to swing back a little bit, as people will pay for business class tickets and airlines are putting more premium products (business class seats and premium economy seats) into their planes. If there was an airline that only charged the equivalent to 70's prices (3x what they charge now) but offered 70's service on the whole plane, they wouldn't be commercially viable because not enough people would pay for that.

definitely more, but I don't think the higher cost was because of nicer seats, interiors, and food. It was because airplane technology and manufacturing were still new and supply was limited which pushed prices up. we could probably have all those nice things today at similar prices if more of the value went back to improving the passenger experience instead of shareholders/owners of the airline oligopoly

@Coyote08714134 @MatNuclear @j_fishback Even if it was a contingency contract, "They breached the contract by LOSING" is a ridiculous statement. Losing a contingency case isn't a breach of contract as the contract already states that they only get paid if you do.

How would anyone catch that? The poll worker doesn't know I'm no longer residing in Illinois. What is the process where Illinois is cross-referencing voting rolls with other states looking for duplicates? They obviously don't do that since my name remained on the rolls for years after I moved and registered to vote in a neighboring state.

Illinois has this too. Your sample signature was right above the box you signed at the poll. If you could make it look halfway close, no one would bat an eye. Also, my parents saw my name in the poll book for years after I moved out of the state and registered in my new state. I could have voted in Illinois and no one would have known any better. There was nothing preventing it.

🚨 Some people panic the moment they see flashing lights. They start explaining themselves, apologizing, and giving away info they never had to share in the first place. But as soon as questions come back at them, everything changes. Knowing your rights and staying calm in these situations is something most people were never taught—and that lack of knowledge is exactly what the system counts on. 💡 Learning how these encounters really work and how to protect yourself legally is key to staying safe. ⚖️👮‍♂️

Over the course of my life, I have shoveled snow dozens of times, and not ONCE have I ever needed an ID. Never needed a passport to go to work either. Hell, my drivers' license is sufficient to board a plane as long as I'm flying within the continental U.S. These jackasses are doing a verbal sleight-of-hand. They keep saying "You can't do ___ without an ID," to make it seem like DEMs are being unreasonable. "Oh, why are you so opposed to voter ID? You need an ID to buy cigarettes / buy beer / watch a sunset." But they're not telling the whole story, they think everybody's dumb: they want you to THINK they're just talking about drivers' licenses as ID. They're NOT. Their stupid "SAVE Act" does not find drivers' licenses, college IDs, or even military IDs as acceptable -- you need a passport. That costs $165. And in order to get a passport, you need a certified birth certificate. So THAT is a big difference, isn't it? Drivers' license to buy beer? Fine, no prob. Drivers' license to vote? Sure, I have that. BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PASSPORT TO VOTE? Now you have to make an appointment to apply for a copy of your birth certificate, then get passport picture taken, PAY $165 for passport, wait 4-6 weeks. If you had to do all that to buy a beer, buy a pack of cigarettes, or shovel snow, you'd rightly be pissed. Now apply that to voting. They're ALSO not saying how their unconstitutional POLL TAX bill does away with mail-in ballots. It's not a voter ID bill. It's a voter suppression bill.

Yes, Afroman could file a malicious prosecution claim against the deputies in Ohio now that he's fully prevailed. He'd need to prove they lacked probable cause and acted with malice. If successful, damages could include his attorney fees, costs, emotional distress, and lost time. His earlier dismissed suit against the sheriff's office might add context, but outcomes aren't guaranteed—courts set a high bar.

@notscottmasters @VeritechAce @DefiantLs The woman in the video said she's going to Sonoma for a wedding. There's no Sonoma in Michigan. She's probably attempting to cross the Golden Gate Bridge, which is 1.7 miles across, and leads across the bay to Sonoma from San Francisco.
