The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) protects lives and property. NOAA's research helps people prepare for and recover from extreme weather, keeps farms and fisheries in business, and helps to keep the ocean healthy in a changing climate. Trump's budget would cut NOAA research, sideline what's left over, and create gaps that leave communities less prepared.

During @EnergyCommerce, we spoke with @EPALeeZeldin about the 2027 @EPA budget. Central Florida faces many environmental challenges. We must protect resources to ensure water supply, stop Florida offshore drilling, and improve hurricane resiliency.

Republicans’ Farm Bill fails to confront the crisis that America’s farmers & families find themselves in. Electricity prices are rising faster than inflation; diesel costs are up by 45%; grocery prices are up 3.6% this year. We at SEEC will continue to fight for a Farm Bill that delivers food to the table and provides stability and growth for America’s farmers.

For many species, the Endangered Species Act is the difference between extinction and survival. Last week, House Republicans chose Earth Day to try to gut it, but they didn’t have the votes. This is a win for wildlife, but it’s not the end of our fight!

Communities across the country marked Earth Day with cleanups – and I thought it only fitting after a long week in Washington to bring Carlson’s donuts on Saturday morning to thank neighbors who are doing their part! 🍩🌳 I kicked off my weekend in Eastport at the 34th annual GreenScape Annapolis clean-up. This team picked up trash, planted seasonal flora, and even added oyster shells to the dirt to help prevent erosion from floods at Davis Park. Thank you, Eastport!

Trump's EPA has abandoned its mission to protect public health and the environment in favor of helping Big Oil and polluters. The result of these environment and energy rollbacks means Americans are paying more for gas and utilities while dealing with worse health from pollution.

For too long, US energy policy has put producers first and focused on keeping energy prices high. The Energy Bills Relief Act is different. This bill bridges the gap between energy consumers and energy producers to deliver the most affordable and reliable energy to the public.

Together, we’re investing in our environment and our community for generations to come. Thank you to the Hagerstown Youth Council for organizing such a meaningful event and for their commitment to giving back to our district. This past Saturday, I joined the Hagerstown Youth Council’s Earth Day Celebration and had the honor of planting the Liberty Tree alongside Delegate Matt Schindler, @MarylandDNR, the Maryland Forestry Service, and the City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation.

Republicans are bending over backwards to help Big Oil avoid accountability by suing to block NY’s Climate Change Superfund Act and trying to override it in Congress. This isn’t complicated: if your company caused the damage, you should pay for it. @GOP wants to protect corporate profits. I’m fighting to protect NY taxpayers.

Trump's energy policies have led to skyrocketing electric bills for families across New Jersey. I’m proud to join my @SEEC colleagues on new legislation that will lower costs quickly, stop energy companies from overcharging you, ensure big energy users like data centers finally pay their fair share, and add new, clean sources of power.

As America celebrates 250 years, I am proud to work with @RepJenKiggans on a bipartisan effort to preserve our nation's battlefields so we always remember how freedom and democracy were won. And our bill passed the House Natural Resources Committee this week!

Water and energy are closely linked at a time when energy demand and energy bills are rising. We must produce clean energy that lowers costs, creates jobs, and protects our air and water. NW Ohio has proven through efforts like the GLRI that when we steward our environment, we invest in our people.

Your electricity bills are way too high, and Donald Trump is paying nearly a BILLION dollars of YOUR money to a foreign company to keep them that way. Yes, you heard that right. The President of the United States is literally spending your tax dollars to make your energy bills more expensive. He lost in court FIVE times trying to kill two wind projects that would have powered over a million homes. Wind and solar are now the cheapest forms of energy on the planet. It is pure math. If you want lower electric bills, clean energy is how you do it. Americans need affordable, homegrown energy that isn’t subject to the volatility of global oil markets. Trump is doing everything in his power, and spending nearly a billion of your dollars, to make sure you don’t get it.

Earth Day sparked an environmental movement 56 years ago, yet Republicans want to wreck the vital protections it produced. We can't let them. From Everglades restoration to creating good, green jobs, I'll always fight to keep our air and water clean for future generations.

If we want lower costs, stronger energy security, and a livable climate, we invest in clean energy. This Earth Day, that’s what Democrats are fighting for.
