I live in Georgia, not all that far away from Social Circle. It is my understanding that the area is predominantly MAGA folks, and it is out in the middle of "nowhere." It is a quaint, pretty place. I believe the citizens of the area are very concerned that they will become the dumping ground for illegals, and that this will drive property value down, and will also cause safety issues. That building is a massive eye sore, and this is compounded by the fact that much to the displeasure of many, the Rivian plant is going in nearby, thus disrupting the farmland, etc.... I doubt many of these folks are anti-ICE or DHS, but rather, they look around them at other parts of Georgia where illegals have been dumped and see the skyrocketing crime and don't want that for their community.
