The situation in Tigray demands urgent international attention.
Despite the cessation of hostilities, over 1.1 million people remain internally displaced, with many unable to return to their homes due to ongoing insecurity and restricted access.
Critical public services have collapsed:
•healthcare systems are severely constrained
•education has been disrupted, leaving tens of thousands of children out of school
•access to food, fuel, and financial services remains limited
Reports of deaths due to hunger and lack of medical care in displacement settings are deeply concerning and require immediate action.
We respectfully call on the international community, including the United Nations,(@UN), the European Union (@EU_Commission) ,
and the African Union (@_AfricanUnion ), to:
•Facilitate the immediate restoration of humanitarian access
•Support the resumption of essential services and budget flows
•Ensure safe, voluntary, and dignified return of displaced populations
•Promote accountability and sustainable peace mechanisms
The people of Tigray have endured immense suffering.
Sustained international engagement is essential to prevent further deterioration and to support a just and lasting peace.
