JUST IN | Pro-democracy activist Godfrey Karembera, also known as Madzibaba Veshanduko, is 47 years old and very sick in prison. Reports say prison officials are not allowing him to get private medical care. He was taken from his home and tortured, then left at a police station and accused of handing out flyers that supported anti-government protests organized by war veteran Blessed Geza. According to people in the prison, Karembera first had trouble urinating, and now he can’t urinate at all. Source: ZimLive

🟥#Zimbabwe📌#YouthReforms📌 Wondering what young people who decided to #GetOnTheBus are advocating for? Youth pointed out that one of the prescriptions for persons to be appointed as judges, senators, commissioners, and to run for the Presidency, among other senior positions in public office, is to be at least 40 years of age. According to the Constitution, Section 20, young people are defined as those aged 15-35 years. Given this, youth are discriminated against on the basis of age, which contradicts Section 56 of the Constitution that speaks to equality and non-discrimination. The young people we have engaged are demanding youth-friendly reforms, citing that they are both systematically and legally excluded from participating in key positions in government.
