@ForgingOpinion @tuhinat221b There are markets where PVR has complete monopoly and others where they have very high control. In any decent country they would be subject to anti trust action. Let’s not waste time on semantics.

@tuhinat221b There are alternatives to pvr inox. how is it a monoploy? No person is claiming they want to watch particular movie only in inox. IMAX is proprietary system of production, format and consumption. I cant open a theater myself and call it imax.

Person who has gotten to see press screening of the film (probably in IMAX) is asking everyone else to be grateful they will get to see film at all instead of criticizing the monopoly preventing ppl from watching a film the way they want to. Good stance, bro 🙏
Suchin Mehrotra@suchin545

Truly don't understand the IMAX-or-nothing folks obsessing over watching #ProjectHailMary only in IMAX and choosing to wait till its IMAX release (which it might not get). We get a great Hollywood studio movie after ages and in India. At best you have a week before it disappears

The plot devices of both No Time To Die and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning are lifted near verbatim from Metal Gear Solid. It's happening. The credit just isn't being given because it's a "lesser" medium.

BREAKING: Microsoft just announced several major changes to Windows 11 in an effort to win back user trust and evolve the platform into something people will actually want to use over macOS and Linux! It's a huge announcement that addresses Windows 11's biggest problems today, tackling core fundamental issues such as unreliable system performance, UX consistency, AI bloat and general enshittification. Microsoft has confirmed that this year, it WILL be reducing where ads and Copilot appear throughout the system, including in Start, Widgets, Notepad, Photos, and more! File Explorer and Windows Search will be upgraded with improved performance and capabilities that make finding apps and files much faster and easier. The OS will become lighter with less RAM and system utilization at idle, making it smoother to run on low end hardware with limited memory. These improvements will also benefit high-end PCs too. Windows Update will be improved with more granular controls and the ability to postpone updates for longer, along with reducing how often the OS needs to restart to install an update. Microsoft has also confirmed that it's bringing back fan favourite features such as the ability to move the Taskbar! It's also working to update more areas of the system shell with modern WinUI designs, which should make Windows 11 feel more coherent and complete. There's much more in the announcement, and it honestly all sounds too good to be true. Microsoft really is listening to feedback, and is eager to make Windows the BEST desktop OS on the market. More details including when these changes will arrive in the link! windowscentral.com/microsoft/wind…

@GamingSinceNES Death Stranding is a particularly poor example. The gameplay and the loop stays the same till the end. You walk, you carry packages and you occasionally fight. There is nothing in hour 10 that would make someone who dislikes the game suddenly like it.

Crimson Desert is suffering from something we see all the time when players don’t have a clear understanding of what a game is trying to be, a lack of aligned expectations from the audience. As I read through so many of its reviews, I keep hearing it get knocked for things like having a bad story, taking too long to get good, and just many other things. But the people who keep pushing to understand the game end up having a really good experience and realize that the intended focus of the game, exploration, combat, puzzles, open world, are all excellent. Now to be clear, even within that paradigm, I’m sure you can find people who bash those mechanics too, but my point is that the game is being docked points for expectations of being something that it isn’t. Picture a world where the Souls genre didn’t exist. Now picture that in that world, Elden Ring launches. You’d have reviewers complaining that there are hard bosses right from the start, forcing you to start over countless times. You’d have people saying the story makes no sense. You’d have people frustrated that unlocking new areas is maddening because the game doesn’t give you enough direction. You’d have people complaining about the lack of checkpoints. Essentially, you’d have a game that broke their expectations for what an open world action RPG should be, something closer to The Witcher. And those reviewers would have dragged down the overall Metacritic score because they wanted something from the game that they didn’t get. But that’s not what happened with Elden Ring. Elden Ring had trust. Elden Ring had a deep fanbase of its style of game already ready to review it. Elden Ring had reviewers who understood the type of game they were getting into, even if they had never played a Souls game before. Take the point that one of the repeated criticisms of Crimson Desert is, “it takes almost 10 hours to get good,” and that alone made people drop off. “I’m sorry, if it takes a game 10 hours to get good, that’s not a good game.” I think there’s a valid argument there somewhere, but it’s also extremely reductive because if the ask is to give the game time and it then provides over 100 hours of a fantastic experience, the onboarding becomes a trade off for that payoff. JRPG fans understand this well, being hand tied for hours before the game really opens up. And of course, Death Stranding is a perfect example of this too. I’ve seen so many people drop off because they felt the game was too slow and there was no hook in the early hours. All of this is to say that expectations seem to be the real killer when they don’t align with what a game actually is. It’s a natural phenomenon though. We, as people, look for patterns in our everyday lives to help us make decisions. We tend to buy the same brands because the last thing we bought from them worked. I had someone argue with me not long ago that the game needs to have a good story because it’s an RPG. Just a modicum of research would have told you that this is not an RPG. But that’s the problem with expectations. Also, fk K-Med 🖕

- Plastic case that has a much higher potential of breaking and awful rigidity - 16GB is more on paper but thanks to MicroSlop and "AI" literally in the name means you actually get this AI slop forced onto you, it isn't. - screen is terribly washed out - screen also only achieves 300 nits and lower res - Acer included an assistant called "DocChat" which sounds way too close to Dogshit to be a coincidence - according to tests it has a really annoying fan noise (Neo is silent) - MicroSlop - MicroSlop Windows - MicroSlop CoPilot This thing is shit. Just get a Neo.

A Double Century for Metro Line 12 Mumbai’s Metro Line-12 (Orange Line Extension) has achieved another major milestone with the successful launch of its 200th U-girder near Golavali Metro Station on Kalyan-Shilphata Road. With this achievement, the project enters a faster execution phase, paving the way for quicker, cleaner and eco-friendly mobility between Thane and Navi Mumbai, while driving transit-oriented development across the Kalyan–Taloja belt. The 23.57-km fully elevated corridor with 19 stations will deliver seamless, sustainable connectivity between Kalyan, Dombivli, Taloja and the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Running parallel to the Kalyan–Shilphata–Taloja corridor and integrating with the MSRDC Flyover for 7 km, the alignment features several engineering highlights, including 100-metre clear spans near Kolegaon, critical Railway and ROB crossings, and high-rise station construction at 21–23 metres. Seamless interchanges will connect commuters to Metro Line-5 at Kalyan, Metro Line-14 at Hedutane, and Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1 at Amandoot, with direct FOB integration to Central Railway at Kalyan Junction. #MetroLine12 #OrangeLineExtension #MMRDA #MahaMumbaiMetro #MumbaiMetro #OnTrack200 #Kalyan #Dombivli #Taloja #NaviMumbai #Thane #InfrastructureIndia #ReimaginingMMR #TransformingMMR #EngineeringExcellence #UGirderLaunch #ElevatedCorridor #SeamlessConnectivity #GreenMobility #FutureReadyMMR #MumbaiInMinutes #RebootingMumbai #ReshapingMMR #ProjectUpdates @CMOMaharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis @mieknathshinde @DrSanMukherjee @IAS_Rubal @MahaDGIPR @PIBMumbai @TheINIofficial @MMMOCL_Official @IndianTechGuide @marinebharat

We deeply regret today's unfortunate incident near Pier No. P196 by Mulund Fire Station Some reports and social media posts have suggested a link to an earlier misleading post questioning the structural stability of Metro Line 4 construction. We would like to humbly submit that this is inaccurate. The visuals used in that misleading post were from a different pier and a different location. Also, today's unfortunate incident involved the falling of a portion of the parapet. A high-level investigation has been ordered in the incident, and a detailed report will be submitted promptly. We urge people to await the findings of the report and assure that all those found responsible will face strict action. Also, immediate corrective measures will be implemented to prevent recurrence. As a precautionary measure, construction in the immediate stretch has been halted for the time being. A fine of ₹5 crore has been imposed on the contractor and ₹1 crore on the general consultants. @CMOMaharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis @mieknathshinde @DrSanMukherjee @MahaDGIPR
