FARM BILL PASSED! Iowa ag needs this. Huge wins for Iowa, including my Prop 12 fix (legislation I’ve been leading for years to SAVE OUR BACON & protect against costly CA mandates), new tools for precision ag, & flood resiliency investments. Had to fight many in my own party to get this bill on the floor, but the Iowa delegation worked together to make it happen & pass a bipartisan farm bill. More work to do, but this is a big win for Iowa.

Today, I had the opportunity to meet the fearless State and Local leaders of western North Carolina who are rebuilding their communities after the devastation of Hurricane Helene. I saw first hand hurricane damage still present and will be making sure @FEMA relief continues to help Americans rebuild their homes and communities. I am humbled and honored to serve the citizens of our great Homeland. Thanks for having me.

Yesterday WNC Partnership leaders met with @SecMullinDHS and senior @fema officials on the region's recovery progress and resilience-building efforts across North Carolina. We're proud to see this important work getting the attention it deserves 👏 #WNCPartnership #Floodresilience

What happens when leaders from eastern and western NC get the chance to learn from each other? Stronger relationships, shared solutions, and a more coordinated approach to flood resilience statewide. Flooding does not stop at regional lines, and neither can our solutions. 💡 Read more about what AFC's cross-state exchange looked like in our blog 🔗 bit.ly/41LFmsJ #FloodResilience #SeaLevelRise #ClimateAdaptation #WNCParternship #ENCPartnership #FloodMitigation #StormwaterManagement #ResilientInfrastructure #WaterManagement #NorthCarolina #NC

The BRIC program is a vital, cost-effective tool that helps communities prepare for and withstand natural disasters. These funds were critical to Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, which is why I introduced the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Act to reinstate and reform the program. After pushing for its return, I’m excited to see this funding will soon be restored—ensuring our communities have the resources they need to rebuild.

The FEMA Act prioritizes speed and flexibility in disaster response, delivering recovery funding more quickly and giving state and local governments the tools to meet urgent needs. We’re working with @RepChuckEdwards and 48 other Members to urge leadership to bring this legislation to the floor. dondavis.house.gov/sites/evo-subs…

I was proud to co-host the Water Adaptation to Ensure Regional Success Summit with Congressman Greg Murphy (R-NC-03) today. Although we couldn’t attend in person due to votes to open the federal government in Washington, D.C., the summit successfully brought together leaders from all levels of government, experts, and flood-mitigation professionals to collaborate on solutions to inland flooding and coastal water challenges.
