Dairy farmers rely on a skilled workforce to produce safe, nutritious food year-round. We are eager to work with the Trump Administration on common sense solutions to help secure a stable food supply and urge Congress to enact long-term legislation that addresses #dairy’s longstanding labor needs.

🚨Exciting news!🚨Yesterday, @TransportGOP @TransportDems passed through committee a surface transportation reauthorization bill, including an amendment from @RepDustyJohnson that would establish a voluntary ten-year pilot program for states to increase truck weights on federal interstates up to 91,000 pounds on six axles. This provision is a step in the right direction toward increasing capacity for milk and dairy products moving in trucks across the country. 🎉🚛

Thank you to @SecRollins and @DepSecVaden for meeting with us and two of our member farmers yesterday to celebrate our shared love of chocolate milk and discuss the importance of milk in school meals. We’re so grateful for your time.

Thank you @RepLindaSanchez for leading this effort and highlighting the need to address the outstanding dairy market access issues in the upcoming USMCA joint review.
Rep. Linda Sánchez@RepLindaSanchez

Today, I led my @WaysMeansCmte colleagues in calling on the Trump Administration to use the USMCA review to strengthen worker protections, environmental standards, and our economic security.   We need trade policies that put American workers and families first.

Last Friday, Maola® farmer Justin Burdette was invited to attend the Great American Agriculture Celebration on the South Lawn of the White House, an event recognizing farmers and producers from across the country. Justin joined a small group of dairy farmers from New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, who gathered through the @nmpf before heading to the White House together. The event brought together farmers from multiple sectors to represent American agriculture in a national setting. Remarks were delivered during the program, and the White House lawn was transformed for the occasion, complete with farm equipment on display, including tractors positioned in front of the White House. We’re proud to see Maola farmers represented and appreciate the opportunity for dairy producers like Justin to take part in moments that highlight the people behind our food system.

Rice urged subcommittee members to remember that dairy farmers — and the economic sector at large — are vulnerable to what’s currently a foreign-dominated maritime shipping industry, increasingly subject to economic volatility and geopolitics. on.hoards.com/260323-2

With all the talk of the #FarmBill today, we wanted to celebrate that the latest Farm Bill includes an amendment that expands the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) to include farmer-owned cooperatives with fewer than 2,500 employees. Special thanks to @RepDustyJohnson and @RepJimCosta for championing this amendment. REAP is an important program for our #dairy farmers to access anaerobic digesters.

With less than one month to Tax Day, we’re grateful this tax season for the permanent Section 199A deduction that was included in last year’s mega tax and domestic policy bill. This deduction is a vital tool for supporting innovation and investment in the #dairy industry.

We’re grateful for @USTradeRep Ambassador Callahan’s support for addressing dairy issues in the upcoming USMCA review. Amb. Callahan notes that "we want to maintain what's working and improve on areas that may not be delivering what U.S. farmers and ranchers expected ... Canada dairy will of course be part of the discussion." Take a listen: agweb.com/news/business/…
